I don't know if it says a TON about his character when a kid chooses to NOT cancel a trip from Germany to the US on one day's notice. My guess is he's planning a little more than just basketball on this trip.
Also, if we hire a coach because he got one commitment from a kid who will likely be here for one year (whose older brother played here) then we're in deep trouble.
