My guess is this decision came right from the top. President Schliss told the acting AD who told Brady: no excuses, no explanations, no waiting for the "judicial process" to take its course. Regardless of circumstances, extenuating or otherwise, the University will not tolerate one of its male athletes physically abusing a woman. Regardless of whether the athlete in question is of Jameis Winston caliber, he's toast, gone, outta here. End of story.

Obviously there is no one to blame here other than Frank, and if you try and put this on anyone else you're a complete fool.
BUT...what is protocol on these open weekends? Do a lot of guys go home? No school/football related activities can take place? Allowing a guy, who is trained to suplex people on the weekends, free reign just doesn't seem like a good idea...especially if they are a known liability.
-I recall AJ Williams going home on a bye week and getting popped for DUI at MU and I was really surprised he would be allowed to leave mid-season...not shocked at all he was drunk in Oxford though.

especially the girl friend.  I just hope that someday with time and more wisdom, Clark becomes a good person again and fully realizes what he threw away.  Over the years, I've run into some guys who had very dark times when they were younger.  But, by the time I met them, they were leading honest lives and doing good things.  Clark should pay the price now for what he's done, but it doesn't have to define the rest of his life.  Time will tell which way he chooses.

At first I was like damn - what the hell was he thinking.  Then I remembered, I was young AND stupid once too.  I never punched a girl, but I did slap one that was hitting me.  Its still one of the most embarrassing moments of my life - even admitting it here 25yrs later is very hard.  I also stole all kinds of shit growing up.  I was no better than Frank.  However, me decisions luckily didn't cost me anything but a lifetime of humility.  I hope Frank learns from this and I hope the victim is ok physically and mentally.  Its just a shame all around - and football and this season is the least of the sadness.

Dude... no need to reason that way or beat yourself up.  We all eff up.

The HUGE difference here is Clark effed up REPEATEDLY... and in a manner which was beyond youthful exuberance.

Reports say he suspected his GF was pregnant... and still laid a hand on her... that's completely unsat.

Not the happiest season, but I felt good, and maybe even proud or compassionate for Hoke, while watching Hoke's presser.

Perhaps in a weird way, a good day for the program because of the action taken?

I missed it... did Hoke apologize to Dantonio?

Of better yet, did Dantonio offer Clark yet?  a la Glenn Winston?

Hypothetically speaking, if the HC gives you a ride to practice from jail, would the NCAA consider that an improper benefit?
