Ford Unveils Mach E Mustang

I like the look of the vehicle but can someone tell me why they’re trying to pass this off as part of the Mustang family?

No thanks. I prefer the muscle car look. I will keep my Challenger Scat Pack. I did love my 1988 Mustang 5.0 though. Had a lot of fun with it.

We won't be buying one again. Our Ford has had a few issues like any other but I'll be damned if I'm going to deal with service techs continually denying the existence of a transmission problem we've been having. I'm sure they'd diagnose it as soon as the warranty runs out.

Explorer. Very hard shift during reverse that makes you feel like you've run into or over something. It's jarring and obvious. I'd be happy if someone just said "yeah, sorry about that, but your transmission still works so it's not technically broken" but no, we've dropped it off at a few different Ford service centers and they said that they couldn't duplicate it.  Horse crap. They either didn't drive the car or they are lying to my face.

Depending on year and powertrain, look up F150 single piece drive shaft sticking.  I believe the video mentions its prominent in the F150 but can apply to explorer/expeditions too.  They somehow decided it was okay not to grease the slip shaft for a period of time and it will create symptoms like that where the rear end jumps.  I still need to drop the shaft on my truck...  (I went through the dealer multiple times for having the trans checked and they didn't do anything about it.

Personally, I've tried to dissociate the company from my dealer but find that hard to do. Having been infuriated by my dealer many times, I can appreciate and sympathize what you are going through. It makes you hate the manufacturer and your car, even if you don't want to. Good luck and I wish they would do right by you!

We did. Said they'd still have to have their transmission guy take a look and was told two weeks later that he couldn't duplicate it. They did apologize for it taking him so long to get a chance to look at the car.

Just never experienced that kind of bull before. As if they don't realize that kind of stuff sours relationships with their customers. We'll be selling it before the warranty expires. It's been a pretty good van alternative for the last couple of years but we're ready to move on.

So when we look for a new ride, it's unfortunate that we'll be scratching this model off the list without giving it a chance.

Why? Ford has gone all in on SUVs and Crossovers and electronic vehicles.

while all American auto companies are run poorly, Ford is run less poorly that GM or Chrysler

Only issue I have is with people who drive the Asian cars. You drive a Toyota, Subaru, Honda...

All of which are made in the US, by US workers, getting paid in US Dollars, and contributing to the US economy.

But OK.

What you meant to say is you have an issue with non-UAW built makes.

I would rather American built in the United States. But the idea that a foreign brand built in the United States is good is such a croc of shit. These foreign companies are playing you and laughing to the bank and they bring the money back to their country.

My 2002 Honda Accord with 250,000 miles has played out pretty well.  Other than routine maintenance, I’ve had nothing wrong with the car.  My wife’s American made automobile consistently has problems.

Profits go to shareholders not to countries.  Full stop.

Don't act like the Big 3 gives money away to people in Michigan.  Hell, the union has to threaten management with strikes and such just to get them to invest in plants and other capital improvements.

The only thing laughable here is the notion that a UAW manufacturer is more altruistic than a non-UAW manufacturer.

I truly do not understand why people insist on trying to make where your car manufacturer is from a moral issue. So all of the parts in a Ford are made in America? Everything in your home is made in America? Please spare me. Most people who beat this drum are just tied to the auto industry and are trying to moralize their selfish desires

I think that's a bias passed down from the Greatest Generation. I know my Dad's parents still threaten to remove him or his siblings from their will if they buy foreign. But my grandpa spent his entire career working for GM. And I'm sure it's hard to forget the friends/family lost to wars fought in Asia/Europe. How many generations have to pass before that mindset is weeded out? And it may never be in the State of Michigan.

IMO, the 'moral' thing to do is buy locally, if you can. Michigan's economy is healthier if the Big 3 are healthy. Honda/Acura have basically put towns on the map in Ohio, so it makes sense to support your community and buy "foreign" in those areas.
