Football visitors for weekend of June 16

Submitted by Magnus on

As I often do, I put together a list of visitors for this coming weekend. The list also encompasses the camps coming up early next week, but the moral of the story is: there are a lot of good prospects setting foot on campus over the next several days.

That list includes 5-star RB/ATH Quavaris Crouch, top-100 safety Lewis Cine, and some good 2020 quarterbacks.

Here's the LINK.

I remember people still thinking there was a chance Nicolas Petit-Frere was coming to Michigan, even though he was never interested in Michigan at any point. I remember reading comments in the thread the day before he said he was going to announce. Then there was all the talk that grad transfer OL from Rice was coming here, when it was Texas all along. Then how about all that talk "Tyler Friday is going Michigan".

The only longshot that may decide for Michigan in the end is Zach Harrison. But even that is slim.

Every recruitment is different unless the recruits are like brothers or something.  You could literally do a list of every recruit that showed interest but went elsewhere (around 150 per year) and of the kids that chose Michigan (25 or so per year).  None of that has any bearing on the 2019 kids unless you believe there is some national conspiracy for recruits to pretend that they are interested in Michigan.

Let me sum it up for you.  They are 16-18 year old kids - kids that age (if you don't remember in  your own life) change their mind A LOT.  While some kids are interested early, commit and then sign their LOI; other kids who seem interested lose interest - some eventually find their way back into the mix.  Other kids never seem interested but then jump in at the last minute.  Some kids commit, then decommit, then yell F&CK MICHIGAN in videos, then recommit (and become one of my favorite players!).  Some kids commit, decommit, recommit again, decommit again and then go to a different school and then transfer.

Do you get the point?  If the whims of 16 year olds are hard on your emotions, I suggest finding a new hobby - CROOTIN' just ain't for you.

So you did know that Crouch wants to play as close to home as possible? And that's why Clemson and South Carolina are the leaders in predictions? Why would someone of his caliber, who could play at places like Alabama, Georgia, Ohio St, USC, LSU, and Notre Dame, have South Carolina so high up?

Just saw this - I think you are taking Crootin way too seriously.  If this stuff bothers you (kids swaying like the wind) - you need to take a step back.

UM will get around 10% of the kids they offer and about 20% of the kids they target.  You have to live with that if you want to follow crootin'

Then why is he visiting twice? If he knows ONE HUNDRED PERCENT he doesn't want to play as far away from home as Michigan, then why visit Michigan two times? Furthermore, why do it on his own dime? This isn't an official visit. He's taking time (and money) out of his busy summer to come to Ann Arbor from North Carolina.

I'm not saying he's going to commit to Michigan, but you're going on feelings rather than evidence. You say he WANTS to play close to home, but he is COMING to Michigan for a second time. Actions speak louder than Sky Panther's words.

Again, Petit Frere visited Michigan but what he saw never changed his mind. He never wanted Michigan. Now Crouch is visiting. If Moses shows up and parts some kind of waters, he might change his mind. But as it is now, he will not decide for Michigan.

Ok, I'll say this:

I WOULD LOVE QUAVARIS CROUCH TO GO WITH MICHIGAN!! But I know it's not going to happen.

But You are saying there's a chance. This is the only chance I give it: IF Ed Warinner can make a phenomenal turn around in the run game, and nothing short of phenomenal, I will give it a 1% chance Crouch will decide for Michigan.

As it is now has has no reason to take Michigan over any of the great teams that are pursuing him now.

Honestly, if he was my kid I'd steer him to Georgia.

If you were a RB as great as Crouch is would you pick Michigan?

Working into the night for like the 20th straight night (I wanted to have my own business - so I can't complain).  But anyway, I decided to take a quick break and checked out the tape on Joey Velasquez and... Holy Crap!  I love this kid's game.  He reminds me of Khaleke on his HS tape.  He is everywhere and gets to the ball carrier fast.  I love how the kid drives through the player he is tackling.

Really hope we get this kid for our next Viper.  His ratings don't reflect his skill set because he is projected to play baseball (one of the top baseball recruits in the country) - if he plays football, he will be a 4 star.

Hudson spent last spring and offseason getting a crash course in how to play viper.
