A Fleeing Mascot?

"Keep the buckeye out of Michigan!"
I guess this website begs the question though, are wolverines moving north out of the UP due to global warming as well? I feel like I saw an article a year or so ago that there was a rare wolverine sighting there... so maybe posting this is a bit hypocritical.

Global warming is a hoax.

It is, Michael Crichton told me:

Of course, he unfortunately died of heat stroke this year.

wolverines are not native to either peninsula of MI.
which is more real, global warming or fred jackson's hatred of RR?

Actually, wolverines were native to the UP, and possibly the northernmost part of the Lower Peninsula, but were hunted to extinction in the state in the early 1800s.

tense: present.
but yea, prior to human encroachment into their habitat, they existed in the US mid west, including IN, apparently.

The wolverine does not inhabit Michigan right now, but it is still native to the state, in the same way that, say, the Huron tribe is. They are part of the state's original ecosystem. (In fact, the absence of the wolverine and other predators is one reason why deer are overpopulating in Michigan right now.)

What I want to know is how wolverines are moving north out of the UP? I'm not an expert, but I can't see the wolverine being a particularly good long distance swimmer...
