First post-Rocco Kendall ball comes rolling in

From Clint Brewster with a 7 confidence.

If we do get Kendall, we’ll be just fine (assuming we ever play football again).

"assuming we ever play football again"

Given we have no vaccine and the virus could mutate to something vaccine resistant when we do get a vaccine...that's a big assumption.

No, definitely according to everyone here. Just many here also realize that now is NOT the time to “just deal with it.” The longer people want to drag their feet with following proper safety protocol, the longer it’s going to be before we as a country can just deal with it.

I probably won't have a basketball recruiting post for today, so I'll put this here. Expect Akins to come off the board, and very soon. Not anticipating good news.

Hoops related:

Matt, do you think Michigan needs to widen the net some as far as offers? Seems like we are focused on a select few and then when spurned, we offer someone else. I knew as soon as that other kid was offered recently that it was bad news on Akins. Just asking your opinion.

Football is over as we know it.

The Chinese engineered this virus to make us socially distance, and now we're perfectly spaced apart to play...

...table tennis!

That's not quite what I said, but the general sentiment that I like Kendall is accurate. I think Spindler has 1st round potential. He's a better player than Kendall, IMO. But Kendall is also a very good player.

I think both of them would be/have been Michigan's best linemen in the class.

I will gladly take Kendall but I still hate missing out on that talent in our backyard.  Just don't miss on Edwards and Benny, 2 positions of need.

I looked back a few years and....in-state recruits that went to UM really haven't been that great. On the years we've taken a few of the top 10-12 recruits, they've performed better overall than the years we took many. Yeah, on paper it sucks to lose talent like Rocco, but maybe this will be better for us down the line.

In-state recruits, period, haven't been that great. There have been 320 first round picks in the last ten years (okay, I guess there have been 319 since the Patriots lost a pick), and only 2 have come from Michigan (Eric Fisher, Mark Ingram).
