No surprise Frankie is up 18 spots and into the top 50. This is good news, thanks for sharing.
It's pretty impressive how high Frankie has risen given his lack of jump shot. Just shows how great he is at getting to the rim and creating for others
Indeed. He really does everything else besides shoot at an elite level. This is my favorite PG pickup since Rose. I think this kid is going to absolutely kill it at Michigan.
Agreed. He sees the court very well and has a great handle on the ball. He plays good defense and has shown the ability to rise up and throw down. I am super excited to see him have (hopefully) a full career here
When/if he develops a decent shot his college career will be over.
Frankie Collins fan club member! His film is fun. He makes quick guys look slow.
4 in the top 50. Nice
Still shocked Moussa isn’t even the TOP 20. Bonkers man
But damn, hell of a class
I thought for sure he was. But I also didn't realize Houstan was as high as 6.
I think Rivals’ focus is on current play level and/or impact at the college level. This way of thinking would put Houston higher and Diabate lower than their 247 rankings (which focus more on long-term pro potential). In that respect the rankings seem dead-on.
I was about to say the same. If you build potential to become a fully operational battle station with planet-destroying capability into the ranking, Diabate probably jumps into the top 10. Just hope he's in Ann Arbor long enough to become fully operational.
Juwan is killin' it!
These rankings feel as if we're in some fantasy fiction, throwing around numbers to make things look good but not connected to real life.
BITCOIN!
Dogecoin!
TO THE MOON!!!!!
You know you have a fantastic class when your lowest rated player is #127 and is completely overlooked by most of our fanbase.
Crazy how the #127 player was considered a solid pickup under Beilein
Came to post the same thing. Quite a paradigm shift and a big reason not to overlook the guy.
Apparently Rivals gave Michigan the title of "#1 recruiting class" even though several high profile prospects remain uncommitted. The lead is big enough that we cannot be unseated. Juwan and staff did really well, for sure.
Many of these kids are from far away, and you don't even know them personally. Why is this worthy of a board post?
/s for anyone who read the post about a kids football drill yesterday.
The 247 rankings are even better for the top 4. Slips a bit for the last 2.
Caleb Houstan - 6
Moussa Diabate - 16
Kobe Bufkin - 41
Frankie Collins - 48
Isaiah Barnes - 111
Will Tschetter - 144
Duke still has a better class average 0.9845 for their 4 recruits: 3, 13, 20, 102 compared to UMs 0.9691 class average for 6 commits.
Went back and figured out the formula for 247 rankings and the top 4 UM recruits average 0.9891, which is better than Duke's 0.9845.
The rest is gravy.
So that's the way we should look at it ;o)
I still think Barnes is probably underrated. After he blew up after his junior year, I don't think scouts have really gotten a chance to fairly evaluate him due to covid complications
Squeezebox has a very good take here on the Top 4, and you make an almost guaranteed take on Barnes who IMO should be 30 slots higher.
Edit: To put this in perspective. Barnes should in the .98-.95 range.
Barnes is going to outplay his ranking considerably. This is my hot take of the day.
They all got the Juwan bump!
Every time I see this gif it makes me worried for Juwan. Watch that cord man!
No worries. The cameraman gave him the nudge to alert him of the trailing cord. Alas, he did NOT trip.
Barnes is still Waaaaay under-rated!
