Article was obviously written for the casual Michigan fan. The people who don't go on MGoBlog daily*, or watch spring games, or follow recruiting. Not terrible in that context.

Article was great for casuals, served to remind me that I gotta cool down.

I'm geeked for this season, even as I expect the team will struggle.  The program isn't change schemes so much as philosophies, and in a way that's actually much bigger.  But enduring the growing pains will be worth it just to see the team move differently.  Over the past several years I've gotten tired of watching so many plays where they left yards on the field.

Angelique works in a classy, "old school" way.  She's pretty much the only person in the Detroit media I go out of my way to read for Michigan coverage on a regular basis.  The information is solid and she doesn't go out of her way to "hype" the team when things look good.  The upside is that when bad things happen, she doesn't sensationalize them, either.

Angelique gets a free lifetime pass AFAIC.  YMMV.

Greatly disagree. Angelique's style of reporting is obsolete. She seems to be popular with Michigan fans because she's a nice person and a familiar name. Not much else there.

The article makes Freddy Canteen sound like a cocky dbag. I wasn't aware of Freddy hyping himself up last year (any more than the average teenage swag).

From the article: So much was expected of receiver Freddy Canteen last fall, especially after he had spent the previous spring talking about what an impact he would make.

You based your "cocky dbag" evaluation on that?

As Angelina wrote:

"The receiver position is very undecided, and if ever Canteen were to make a movie, it would be this fall."

I would suggest retitled football epics such as "The Longest Yard (After Catch)" or "(To the) North Ann Arbor (End Zone after) 40."

Otherwise, as most everyone has pointed out, Angelina produced no great surprises. But overall, the article was a reality check for those who thought as early as this fall M would challenge the accursed Buckeyes or Spartans for BIG East supremacy. Well, most likely not this year.

Anyway, we'll know how the team will do this fall after Sept 3. Few M openers have been more hotly anticipated than this one. To match it you probably have to go back to Bo's inaugural game against Vanderbilt in September of 1969. That team, peopled by Bump's recruits, went 8-3 and to Pasadena with an epic 24-12 win over the then-unbeatable Buckeyes.

For me, though, a 7-8 win season and a decent bowl bid would mean success. In fact, given what we've been through the past several seasons, I would consider such a record highly successful. Go Blue!

Because of his much larger size, a male can usually force himself on a female, mounting her from behind, and in extreme cases, the male may pull the female out of the tree. A female may scream and vigorously fight off her suitors, but will submit to one that is dominant or is more familiar. The bellows and screams that accompany matings can attract other males to the scene, obliging the incumbent to delay mating and fight off the intruders. These fights may allow the female to assess which is dominant.

I wasn't surprised that the QB situation was at #1, but I was surprised that the OLine wasn't mentioned. I would say that with good OL play and solid RB play we could overcome the QB situation until the starter settles in.

So he is 0-1 in Ann Arbor in the past 5 years

2010 - MSU won in A2

2011 - MSU won in EL

2012-Michigan won in A2

2013/2014 - MSU wins both in East Lansing.

2015 - Upcoming in A2.

Not sure data above gives any michigan fan any reason to get excited.

It does illustrate the context for MSU's recent success to some degree. As long as we are a solid team (which we should be) there is a good chance to win that game. State hasn't beaten a really good team in a hostile environment AFAIK. They have faired much better when the crowd is not against them in big games.

I agree and hope like hell we can beat those guys, but they have really only played in Ann Arbor onece in the past 46 months...which wow is crazy.

Man, I hope Michigan wins that game...carry on

You think MSU will go undefeated before Ohio? I hate Ohio, but they just destroyed Alabama and the Ducks. Ohio was also rebuilding last year. Oh, shit got it Sparty. Narduzzi left and you guys will suck. Hold on tight, because statistics show you're in for a very rough patch.

At this point in the offseason I'm so desperate for football stories that I'd happily read articles about each player's favorite color and which Disney princess they'd be...With that in mind, this was a great article.

"The receiver position is very undecided, and if ever Canteen were to make a movie, it would be this fall. "

Perhaps "A Nightmare on Main Street", for the Spartans?
