ESPN Top 10 ... fail
ESPN Top 10 this morning had a couple of sweet hockey goals, a one handed touchdown catch, and a couple of nice college basketball plays. Each play was shown several times with different angles and slow motion (business as usual). Number 1 was a complete fail – just a simple dunk by Sparty. It was only a few seconds long followed by a snarky comment by the ESPN host before cutting to commercials.
They should have used Wagner’s ankle breaking crossover and lay-up late in the game with the score close. Here is the article with this video and others, including a “Dirk impression”: https://www.sbnation.com/college-basketball/2018/1/13/16888492/michigan-vs-michigan-state-basketball-moritz-wagner-crossover-dunk-dirk-fade
I will try to embed the video below. Meanwhile, here’s is a snapshot of Sparty on the floor – looks like a sniper took him out!

If Wagner dunks that, it is #1 without a doubt.

Rich Eisen trolling Mariucci
Blessing No. 2: having @umichbball beat @MSU_Basketball on their home court and have the next shot on the live TV show you’re doing with Tom Izzo’s best man be of Tom Brady. It’s wonderful, @stevemariucci pic.twitter.com/2GydkO0SKk

The blessing of @umichbball beating @MSU_Basketball in their beloved sport on their home court and being next to their coach’s best man, making him think he’s taking a picture but actually taking a video of him while telling him the final score. It’s wonderful, @SteveMariucci pic.twitter.com/IUgkNLFsh2

Let Sparty have a consolation prize. Their best team in a decade, according to Izzo, just got beat down on their home floor. We ruined their season, and it’s awesome.
January 14th, 2018 at 1:13 PM ^
But what does jemele think.
January 14th, 2018 at 1:29 PM ^
....she is not capable of doing that!
I am sure she will give it some proper air time as she always seems pretty even keeled when it comes to the rivalry.
January 14th, 2018 at 1:15 PM ^
It was a pretty nice dunk.
January 14th, 2018 at 3:51 PM ^
Agree. I'll take the win over the highlight dunk any day of the week and twice on Sunday, but I'm not surprised it made the Top 10. I mean, if Michigan had the exact same alley-oop I think we would all be saying it was worthy of an ESPY. And I'm with Beilein: huge dunk is still only worth 2 points.
January 14th, 2018 at 1:18 PM ^
If #1 was that dunk by Schilling, I would not be upset. That dunk was pretty ridiculous.
It’s ok, they still lost the game. I’ll take a win over #1 over SportsCenter every time.

While Wagner's move was great, am I the only one that thinks that's where MAAR was lying injured a few seconds earlier and the sparty player slipped on the sweat they likely didn't entirely mop up? It doesn't look like he gets tripped up but more like his feet just slip out from under him.
January 14th, 2018 at 1:35 PM ^
MAAR fell down inside the circle almost under the basket while Ward slipped up by the foul line because Wagner crossed him over with a wicked move and he failed trying to move his big lumbering legs.
He may have slipped, but it looks more like it was because he lost his balance trying to change directions to keep up with Wagner.
January 14th, 2018 at 1:44 PM ^
Roger that. I forgot the exact location where MAAR was down, but thought it was a little higher up on the court.
January 14th, 2018 at 1:54 PM ^
I assumed MAAR had a cramp, since he looked to be in so much pain but was right back in to play soon after.
January 14th, 2018 at 2:18 PM ^
He did not seem to roll anything or slip.
January 14th, 2018 at 2:37 PM ^
Not sure who delivered it, but I know a ball shot when I see one.
January 14th, 2018 at 1:26 PM ^

I remember at some point in the first half the announcers said we were managing to survive in the game. Bitch, we were up three and led for most of game. We won by double digits. They were hanging on the whole game.
January 14th, 2018 at 1:34 PM ^
I'm not even mad:
1) Beat Stare
2) Pats going to AFCCG. Again.
3) Liverpool ends City's PL unbeaten streak.
I'm in such a good mood, I could care less that Chick Fill A is closed today. Panda Express has never tasted so good.

I’ve actually edited some of the SC Top 10s before (years ago) and can tell you from firsthand experience the amount of fucks anyone gives about those is close to zero. It’s usually just some PA or AP putting together 10 plays that happen to be easy to grab on a server.

why anyone watches espn when they aren’t broadcasting live sports is a complete mystery to me

I am waiting for the rise of Fox Sports!
January 14th, 2018 at 3:44 PM ^
Fox sports has better cameras and color commentary but they're unfortunately owned by the same parent company that produces Fox news.

Yes, Fox News is the only biased news source in the entire world, well according to the Huffington Post.

January 14th, 2018 at 3:40 PM ^
Is bias towards the perceived favorites of each sport. Just look at how they're covering the Jacksonville game. Just glancing at the ESPN headline, one would assume that Pittsburgh is just toying with Jax on their way to an inevitable win. ESPN sux
