DVR Reminder: 9PM ESPN2 UM@Indiana MBB
Michigan invades Assembly Hall tonight, tip off at 9:06.
Dylan has a preview here: http://www.umhoops.com/2012/01/05/game-15-michigan-at-indiana-preview-2/
The takeaway: Indiana is the best three-point shooting team in the country, and they rarely turn the ball over. The line is Indiana-8 and Pomeroy favors them by 12(14% chance to upset). He says that if Michigan is going to pull it off they need to get to the foul line, hit their threes, and Hardaway is going to have to go HAM.
Some idiot on the board wrote a half-arsed preview here http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/michigan-basketball-13-coaches-poll
The takeaway being that the OP ate a lot of paint chips as a kid
Beilein talks about Indiana here http://www.umhoops.com/2012/01/04/audio-notes-quotes-john-beilein-previews-indiana-updates-horford-injury/
The takeaway being that Indiana is ridiculous from downtown, and Zeller is a freak in the post. If Indiana gets ahead, we're probably toast. Defense will be able to set up better if Michigan is scoring baskets offensively.
"Inside the Hall" previews the game here http://www.insidethehall.com/
The takeaway being WOO Smotrycz for 3, Michigan has a lethal offense, but can UM defend from downtown...so far not so much.
Holy crap, temple beat Duke? What the heck? What was I saying? Oh yeah, ESPN previews the game here http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/preview?gameId=320050084
The takeaway being its been over a decade since these teams were both good at the same time, and Tom Crean is only somewhat less annoying in quotation than he is on camera.
Basically, if Zeller has an off night we have a shot. But when Zeller is on, heck when he is on the court-Indiana doesn't have a lot of weaknesses.

Trey Burke was named to the final 20 for the Bob Cousy Award for the best PG in the nation...he is the only true freshman on the list!

But Darius never went 8/11fg and 8/11ft. If he gives Michigan anywhere near what he did against Minnesota for the year he just might mess around and win that award.

I am going to go negative and say Michigan has no chance tonight. Zero zip zilch nada.
I caught a little of Jalen Rose on ESPN a bit ago and he said something like,"I had three fouls before I got of the bus in Bloomington, and then the first little guy to step in front of me would cause me to pick up another foul. That's why I've never been a fan of those charge and flop calls". Jalen and I think alike, good things generally don't happen in Bloomington, and flopping in basketball is a pet peeve of mine
Don't know why I'm going to DVR this (but I am), cause Michigan is going to get trucked.

You know as well as I do, Beilein's teams are like a box of chocolates...Michigan has got as good a chance as anyone to win there(and I say that because Ohio already lost). It's not likely, but its a lot closer to improbable than impossible.

Anyone going to the game tonight? I have a feeling I will be one of the few specks of maize in a sea of red.
