Draymond Green - Karma

Submitted by CLord on October 31st, 2019 at 3:00 PM

So Kevin Durant basically stated today that Spartan Draymond Green was one of the key reasons he left for Brooklyn.

I've always found Green to be an arrogant douche-bag even without Wolverine goggles on.  He's a decent player but has clearly ridden the talent around him to titles.  I'm going to enjoy watching the Warriors fall apart this year and hopefully end up shipping that douche to siberia like Phoenix some day down the road.

Karma always catches up with assholes like him eventually.

Take your teammate to task "on the court"? Make an example out of your teammate? What am I missing here? Did you watch the interview? He's not whining at all; he says that not getting along with Green was part of the equation in leaving.

Clearly, one thing Green got pretty wrong was in telling Durant the team didn't need him. I got excited about GR3 and JP playing for the Warriors, but it looks like their good thing has come to a sudden end.

No, take him to task on the court now that he's on an opposing team. I thought that was implied, I'm sorry.

And he's definitely a whiner. He whined when he left OKC. Whined with Golden State. Created dummy twitter accounts to defend himself and attack others. He's just a bitch. And while the warriors are struggling now (a ton of injuries), they also won championships without Durant and dominated without him. Heck, they essentially got to the finals without him last year. He's a great player, but the bitch statement can also be true at the same time.

Says the pompous internet tough guy who belittles someone's opinion without addressing the main point of their rebuttal.. a little self-awareness goes a long way, sir. If these types of posts offend you and your sensibilities, you may want get off of this blog and log off of the internet.. and while you're at it, you may want to disengage from everyday conversation as well as any mainstream journalism.

Are people forgetting the Warriors won a title without Durant?

They’ll be fine once Klay and Curry are healthy. Maybe not as good since the bench is a little lacking this year but not dead last like haters want.

The real “karma” is dumping all the Oakland fans who stuck by the team at Oracle when they used to suck prior to Curry and then jumping ship to the richer parts of the bay in the Chase Arena. Lets see how many fair weather fans stick by them when they’re not winning titles.

They also used to have good, veteran role players. Iguodala, Livingston, David West, etc. Now they have guys who weren't even the main guy on their college teams, including GRIII and Jordan Poole. They'll need huge contributions from unproven players to stay competitive in the West. And I honestly think D'Angelo Russell is closer to 'meh' than he is stardom.

This is a relitigation of the first Warriors title I’ve only heard from Cavs fans.

The thing about Cleveland beating them the next year was it was a celebrated upset. With all players healthy and no Durant Golden State is still the favorite in each finals matchup.

Last year’s loss involved more then Durant being hurt. The team had extensive injury issues most notably Klay going down in the finals.

I’m not a Warriors fan (i thought they  were really fun at first) but that was a great run by a great team.

There are two former wolverines on the warriors right now. JP and GRIII. I'm not going to actively root for them to fail just to spite Draymond Green.

I think you absolutely have your wolverine goggles on. I also think you're underselling what a great player he is defensively. Absolutely lockdown defender that can guard 4 positions and a great passer too. He makes up for a lot of Curry's defensive shortcomings.

As much as I hate Draymond, it's KD who ends up looking worse here. For starters, KD will never shake his reputation as being less of a team player than the rest of the Warriors due to the circumstances under which he joined the team and the brief length of his time there. And with respect to the Draymond-KD kerfuffle, Draymond has mostly held his tongue on KD and even expressed humility and remorse about the way he handled that situation. KD's comments seem a little petty in comparison.

Having said that, there are plenty of other reasons why Draymond is a steaming piece of shit.

I don't think you watched the video OR absorbed the content. Draymond called him a bitch and said the team didn't need him. Durant calmly notes that that was something he factored in when he left. He also says he didn't feel that GSW had much of a future. We can take or leave these thoughts, but beyond that. . . just gossip and taking sides.

2nd paragraph (from the 2nd sentence down) is a terrible take.

Douche? Sure. Elite basketball player (especially defensively)? Also true.

I mean, Durant is also a weirdly prickly dude who can't handle any criticism, but Green is a monster asshole.  So like, I don't root for either of them but it's nice to see Green be exposed a bit.

If 3 championships AND millions of dollars is “karma,” I want some of that.

Same people bagging on Bryce Harper today. “Ha, in your face!” Um, guy’s still waking up today with a 180 million dollar guaranteed contract.

Karma. Riiiiiight.

hes a decent player but has clearly ridden the talent around him to titles

Said almost EVERY championship ring winner, ever. There is a guy named Jim Loscutoff who has 7 NBA rings. 6 Points per game and 5 rebounds per game. Same with someone named Frank Ramsey.

I do not doubt if the Boston Celtics would have won those championships without the major contributions from Jim Loscutoff. I DO doubt that Golden State could have won their titles without Draymond Green. He could be a jerk, but come on man--he is a very good basketball player. I LOVE me some Bill Laimbeer, but not until he became one of the dirtiest players ever while playing in Detroit.

I also do not get the I CANNOT WAIT TIL THAT TEAM LOSES EVERYTHING EVEN THEIR CHEERLEADERS BECOME UGLY AND FAT RAWR. Why the Warrior hate when, of course, they win and do the things teams are supposed to do? How many people hate New England? Probably everyone not in Boston or who doesnt worship Tom Brady.

I am also glad you are the one who can judge whom Karma should waylay.

I used to love seeing DeVeon Smith get under Draymond’s skin on Twitter.  I’m sure they had some incident that led to their Twitter beef but I prefer to think DeVeon was completely unprovoked and just enjoyed messing with him.

Kevin Durant is not the big loss for Golden St. Jerry West is. He's with the Clippers now, building a championship team there. They're probably win it all this year in his second year building the team.

I could see being teammates with either of them being a pain in the ass.

But Durant is a superstar top 3 player when healthy.

Draymond is a B- player, with a ceiling as an All-Star reserve.

Durant gets the benefit and is allowed to be a bitch, Draymond is just a loud donkey.

Draymond is the tough heart that every championship team needs  .. and every rival fan hates.  And he gets the absolute most out of his talent, Green is one of the few Spartans I actually like.
