Does Tate have a little "Brady" in him?

Submitted by Thunder71 on
As I watch Tom Brady orchestrate yet another unbelievable comeback, only having one incompletion to two touchdowns on his last two drives, I can't help but think back to Saturday and Tate Forcier's performance. The more I think about it, the more Tate Forcier's attitude on the field reminds me of Brady's. They've got "it," that moxie, the intangibles. What do you guys think? Does Tate have a little "Brady" in him?

If you mean that both are qb's that had a role in 4th quarter comebacks, then yes there are similarities. If you want to compare 'intangibles' then that does not compute.

With the cocky jackass factor (and I *love* it, but I'm sure I'd hate him if he played for someone else) he reminds me a little bit of Hart. We fell in love with him after his second game, too.

In the past two days, I have heard the Forcier compared to Vince Young, Colt McCoy, Drew Brees, Jeff Garcia, Joe Montana, Fran Tarkenton and, now, Tom Brady. We might as well throw Unitas, Namath, Elway, Marino, Aikman, Favre, Tebow and Bradford onto the list and get it over with. With this kind of pedigree, I cannot imagine how we will ever lose another game.

Jaworski just could not believe it possible that someone in their first NFL start could go through their progressions that quickly and correctly to make the easy play. If you can recognize the open guy, that goes a long, long way toward QB success. In that regard, I don't think calling Tate an infant Brady is a reach. Let's hope he progresses like Tom did.

Goodness gracious, people. The kid has played 8 quarters of college football. Let's not get carried away with the comparisons. Maybe after we see him deal with losing a game, we could draw some actual conclusions about the nature of his intangibles. Not that I want us to lose a game, but I'm just saying. We know players like Mike Hart because we've spent years watching their highs and their lows, watched the press conferences and read the transcripts, and witnessed enough athletic feats and mental blunders to really understand what they're all about. I'm really looking forward to learning more about this young player, but in a year from now, it's possible that we could have a completely different conception of his talents and character, for worse or for better. Let's not rush to anoint a savior just yet.

as a 20+ season ticket holder and a general college football fan, i've never seen anything like the perforamance tate gave us saturday as a true freshman. especially in game #2 of his career. i can't think of anyone...

Do you really think he's going to look worse than he did against Notre Dame? Do you see teams(outside OSU) with more talent than ND? Do you think B10 teams will pressure/try to confuse him more? Everyone keeps saying just wait, he's going to make aweful freshman mistakes...I dont see any indication that that is going to happen.
