DC watching bars
Just moved to DC from Chicago, which we all know is brimming with UM bars.
my understanding is buffalo billiards is the place to go...any idea how early i would need to get there for this weekend's game to get a table or even maybe a spot at the bar? (noon kickoff).
go blue!

... for big games it's about 30 minutes to an hour early. Not sure for the 1-AA games.
Welcome to the district. The weather is just like Michigan today.
[EDIT] Oh, and stay out of Katie's section. She doesn't seem to like it when beer glasses "accidentally" slip off the table when Michigan loses to Michigan State.

There have been threads about this (specifically DC) in the past, so I suggest a search. There is also a spreadsheet that someone (bouje?) had initiated where anyone can add UM-friendly bars. Anyway, in it you'll find the options are Buffalo Billiards (largest location; over a thousand people for MSU game), Bailey's in Arlington (still a pretty solid crowd), and Tommy Joe's in Bethesda (smallest, oldest crowd). It all depends on the game for what time to get there. Usually 15 min advance is plenty, especially for this weekend's game. I may be at Bailey's this weekend!

Looks like only the ones that MGoAero said and no mention of times to go/how early to go.

Question, have you ever been to Bailey's in Arlington? Has anyone actually been to Bailey's in Arlington? We went into that place about five minutes late for Indiana, which was sad enough, only to find about 5 people there completely uninterested in the game. Went back and drank our own much cheaper beer instead. Saved money but very sad no one was there.

Buffalo Billiards is pretty sweet. It can get pretty crowded tho. Haven't had the opportuity to watch a UM game there, but the line is usually around the block when there is a UFC PPV.

There are actually several different options in the DC area. Check out the DC Alumni Club website:

Buffalo Billards in Dupont Circle is a good place. I go to Caddie's in Bethesda because I live out that way. I'll be there to watch the game Saturday.

Will be EMPTY this weekend (hopefully not too empty tho), for two reasons:
1) 1-AA
2) early start time.
I've gone to three games there so far this year. It was busy for WMU, quiet for EMU, and just crazy for MSU. So, I wouldn't worry about getting there early to find a spot, unless you want to be sure to get one right in front of the screen. In which case, a half-hour would be prudent.

I don't have enough MGoPoints to post my own thread, but a friend of mine got tickets to the USC ND game this weekend. It's a 3:30 kickoff so i'll have time to watch the first half - any idea where I could watch it?
I'm kinda worried because Northwester plays MSU at the same time and I think that may be the locally shown game...

Roll up in somebody's tailgate and watch it on their TV.

...a few of us belly up and watch 12:00 games at the Pour House (formerly Politiki). Not mentioned on the club's site.
