Dann O' Neill quits team

Submitted by JimBobTressel-0 on
I'm sorry to be the first to break this news. But it's true. Believe me, I wish it wasn't true. This sucks. I know him personally, and the truth will soon spread. You'll hear about it soon enough. From What I have heard, he quit because he is tired of football. Being here made him lose the love of the game. A couple of his teammates said that he probably would rather lay around and play video games....probably the reason this happened in the first place.

Maybe he did it because he committed to UM under Carr thinking he would be the next Jake Long. After 2 years in the system he has realized that being a quick, mobile lineman doesn't translate to the NFL as well as playing in a prototypical offense. Along with that, he did not make any noise during the spring and doesn't seem to be coming along as expected...

i dont think that anyone would quit the team because they heard a senior in HS committed to the team that won't play for another year. also, the fact that it is advertised as quitting the team leads me to believe that he's probably not going to go to another big 6 school for football. obviously that is just rampant speculation though

Believe me, my source is reliable....I don't want to reveal who though for their sake. (I realize I am pissing you off by saying this...) Look, I love Michigan football, and I'm not a rumor-mongerer. I don't tell you this stuff for fun, or to stir up trouble. I actually WISH that I turn out to be wrong about this.

determining causation here. The story of O'Neill's leaving the team had no traction until Mr. Tressel posted the story. It may be that Mr. Tressel's posting about O'Neill caused him to leave. If this is the case, he owes us and should be forced to post about an awesome recruit who will soon sign with UoM.

That thread reminds me...anyone know why Chitown peaced out of MgoBlog? Was it the anti WLA backlash stuff or did he get sick of the quality of comments and the board? I rather enjoyed most of his meanderings.

I'm sorry that I, and others, have done something bad enough to make you follow up every mention of our name with a snitty comment. I don't remember what I did, but sorry. For your information, I am not, as you claim, a "12 year-old girl". While female, I turned 8 last month. Here's a picture:

It's your general "our opinion is better than yours" attitude and the fact that you refer to everyone here as MgoIdiots on your board. You have your own blog where you can pat eachother on the back for consistently insightful and correct comments, stick to it.

/shrug It's typically, "our opinion has facts behind it does yours?" Plus, MgoIdiots is directed at idiots, not everyone. We also argue all the time, it's just nobody takes it personally because people can admit when they are wrong. Some people (BRODIE) are giant cockbags way too often. But he's gone, and that's made things a lot nicer actually.

Not surprised he is leaving our team. But, kind of surprised he is quitting football totally. Are you sure he is not transferring to a system that fits his skills more, instead of just totally quitting football?

It seems more like it's his opinion on the matter. That's it. Not to mention, a WLA member has already posted in this thread with a comment that does not conform with Chrisgo's. So to the extent that member represents the WLA (and it bears repeating that they do not act with a hivemind...most of the time), it would not seem that Chrisgo is acting like the WLA.
