A cartridge can also be much more easily concealed than an ounce of flower. I mean we are talking about smuggling a federally illicit substance past federal employee's so an argument about what will get you the least punishment if caught is moot. The idea is to get it past the inspectors not to be carefree if you are caught.

TSA is checking for weapons, not drugs, on domestic flights. He would have been ok if he had just stuffed his bud in a pair of socks. Instead he creates a curiosity with this thing that looks like something they used to sell at Spencer Gifts.

3 strikes: went to OSU, ratted out teammate to national audience and cost him his engagement, and then actually tried/got caught using the can trick. The dude is dumb and I hope he never goes anywhere near the Pistons.

I am still trying to understand why marijuana is illegal throughout most of the USA while alcohol is not.

Because it's the devil's lettuce!

...and also the pharmaceutical industry/private prisons have actively been lobbying our lawmakers for the past century. It is in their best interest that weed not become legal unless they have skin in the game. Also police get a ton of money to combat drugs, war on drugs, suppression of minorities, and the list goes on.

Dude I get yout point about the suppression stuff but absolutely the "war on drugs" and leo is a huge reason we don't legalize pot.

There are places in this country where if they pull you over and find a roach in your ashtray they can confiscate and auction off your vehicle.

We've also managed to build a huge industry around imprisoning citizens which is why the "land of the free" leads the entire world in so.many categories like highest % of citizens sitting in prison.  And you and I pay for a lot of non-violent offenders to be sitting around soaking up tax-money and not contributing anything to society.

Our justice system is absolutely abysmal and could use a toral overhaul but "tough on crime" plays really well to old people I mean reliable voters.

In many ways I think our country is having strange problems because our population is weird due to the baby boomers.

Cheers.

Also look comparatively around the world,  shouldn’t blame LEO for enforcing laws passed by elected officials.

To counter the over policing argument of certain neighborhoods I would ask:

Imagine you are a police chief in a given area and you have two designated  areas/neighborhoods.  Based on reported stats collected the previous 12 months neighborhood A has had 20 shootings resulting in 10 deaths.  Neighborhood B has had no shootings.  Where are you going to focus your resources?

I’ve got an LE background and think it should be legal and taxed like liquor.  Until it is got to do the job that being said.  Where I operate it is an infraction unless you are moving “weight”.

there are not many people incarcerated for possession of marijuana in this country.  On the flip side illegal drug sales in general are not a victimless crime:

1-no good drug dealer is going to operate without “protection” often in the form of an illegal firearm, if there’s money to be made people will get violent about keeping their slice of the pie.

2- There are many young people who have overdosed and lost their lives on heroin and fentanyl etc. but that dealer is considered non violent by some.

3-A normal person that’s looking to watch the game on saturdays isn’t crawling through someone’s window and jacking the flatscreen, that would be the addict looking for a fix.

If anything is broken it’s the revolving door that is “addiction treatment” and the mass amounts of tax dollars spent on extremely unsuccessful and mismanaged  programs around the country.

Finally im right in the middle of generation X...so both baby boomers and millennials can kiss the baby

How many people have EVER been incarcerate for it, even for a day?  How many now have a record because of it?  The issue isn’t doing hard time for a dime bag, the issue is you are automatically excluded from most non entry level/service jobs as a result.  For the record, I don’t smoke and never have, but I do see otherwise good people unable to be hired due to a conviction.
