I absolutely hate when people post "I dont wear jerseys because I am xx years old" on these types of threads. I don't care how old you are. If you like jerseys, wear em. If you don't like jerseys, don't. There is no rule that you have to be a certain age to wear jerseys. That is just silly and pretentious. Is my 7 year old son too young to wear a polo shirt if he comes with me to a work event?

I am 38. My wife, who is 35, bought me a new #98 jersey last year for my bday. Last I checked, it didn't make me any less of an adult.

Strange when 40 year old men wear 18 year old boys' jerseys like some sort of middle-school cheerleader wearing her boyfriends away jersey to a high school football game.  Do you wear your cargo shorts and lesbian adventure sandals with the jersey to complete the tri-fecta?  Or are you spicing it up with the flat-brim and white sunglasses look?

So it's strange to wear a jersey of a 18-22 year old, but it's not strange to stalk out 15-17 year olds on Twitter, Facebook, Vine, or whatever other social media there is out there? You signed up on this site to talking about everything Michigan football. That's, not weird, but wearing a jersey is? Hanging onto a 16-17 year old's words like it's life or death if they commit to Michigan or not isn't weird, but wearing a jersey is? Looking at progress pictures of 19 year old kids from freshman to sophomore year with their shirts off isn't weird, but wearing a jersey is?

Jesus Christ, some people need to get in touch with reality and quit with the 'holier than thou' attitude.

I wear a Reggie Bush jersey to every Lions game. I'm 30, he's 29. I guess that makes me some weird creeper pedophile that wants to be his girlfriend. I thought it was me showing my love and support for my favorite player and team, but apparently I'm just a giant weirdo.

Fuck people, you know what's fucking weird? If you're a guy worrying about what other guys wardrobes consists of. That's fucking weird.

Your response conflates two separate arguments that you are making. My point about a polo short or other athletic clothing was in direct response to your point that it seems odd to wear football mesh clothing when not playing football. Your comeback taking about kids' numbers (and saying that it is weird for an adult to wear a jersey with a kids number) is a totally different point.

So, you have no response to my point about polo shorts and other athletic equipment and you are now raising a separate point. Let's discuss that point. It is weird to wear a shirt with a kids number on it? By that logic, it is equally weird to spend an entire Saturday watching a bunch of kids playing sports, and even weirder to frequent a blog about those kids playing sports unless of course you have a kid on the team. Even weirder still that the result of a game played by a bench of kids would upset anyone or give them happiness.

Signed in to agree with you, it's hard to complain about wearing a kids clothes or number or a jersey if you aren't playing when everyone on this blog lives and dies for what these kids do on the field. I'd say wearing a jersey with a kids number is less wired than visiting this blog and stressing about recruits or players all year, at least I only wear a jersey on Saturdays in the fall.

Being MDen didn't have a #47 for the current home jersey and I needed the home jersey, I got a custom #47 for a little bit more $.

There's a guy on eBay who makes B1G and Legend patches. Excellent quality.

I've never gotten a name on the back of a jersey. I know the MDen blocks you if you try to put past player names on the back.

Other sites like Fanatics don't, though. I'd personally get a Denard jersey.

MDen tried and failed selling a Denard jersey after he graduated with his name on the back. They forgot that the back of his jersey said "D. Robinson". That's what stopped me from buying it.

For my jerseys, I just get the number of a player who I like. My favorite is my #2, purchased while I was a student. I also have a #1 and a #16. My wife has a #1, and my older son has #1, #16 and #98. He loves to wear them to school.

I also have the original #2 home jersey, the #1 away jersey from 2003 and the #16 home jersey from a few years ago. I don't need any others except maybe a #21 as it's my lucky number (my old number, Desmond, and Biakabutuka)

EDIT: If you don't get that reference, you probably never saw cheerleaders in hot tubs on the side of the football field...and probably love alternate Michigan jerseys.

I mean you have already passed Tom (freaking) VH. By the time you are 30 you may have more points than Brian...however, before that time comes, I fear you will have been offered a job by MGoBlog and then poached by a major recruiting site. But when I am in my rocking chair catching up on the latest Michigan recruiting news...I can proudly say to my grandchildren that I knew Wolverine Devotee when he was just a kid!

Much respect...now back to my Bloody Mary...I love vacations.

My Thronbladh authentic game jersey!  Doesn't matter how old you are, I have quite a few lions, red wings and Michigan jerseys.

A good trickbis to get a real nice authentic jersey with just the number on it.  Then take it to a good embroiderer, and have them fashion up a name plate for the player you want.  Gets you around the NCAA rules and gets you a nice game jersey!

I am 43 and have 4 jerseys, numbers 1, 20, 32 and framed in my office a 10 with the 1999 Orange Bowl patch on it. The only one with a name on the back is the one framed in my office and it isn't my name on the back.

I generally only wear a jersey if I am going to a game but have worn one to a sports bar for a bowl game. My wife even has a couple jerseys...although I am not sure if a pink one counts as a jersey!

Fuck it, give zero fucks and wear what you want!

I'll be 39 in a few days, and I've been wearing UM football jerseys for each game since I was 13yrs old.  I'll never stop wearing my jerseys during the game.  God willing I'll be 95yrs old sporting a UM jersey at the Rose Bowl decades from now.   If you want to wear jerseys wear jerseys, if you don't then don't.  Its not my role in life to judge other peoples decisions.

As far as custom jerseys go, I've never sprang for full blown custom jersey with name.  I have standard issue road/home sets I wear and some uniformz for the special games.  I have jerseys in #1, #2, #7, #12, #16 & #97.

They wear racing shirts and aren't racing. It would be like me driving to work in a NASCAR suit. Everything else is fine.
