There were a lot of great kickers this year.  The first team player and Groza award winner, Christopher Dunn was 24 of 25 this year, hitting 10 of 11 from 40-55 yards.  Certainly a great kicker and deserving of awards.

But for my money - I wouldn't trade Moody for him or any of the others.  Kid has icewater in his veins and was fucking MONEY when we needed it throughout his career.  He is the best kicker in the history of Michigan football - and it really isn't even close.  Amazing story for an unheralded kid out of Northville.

Dunn only tried 2 kicks over 50 all year.

That's a little disingenuous to neglect to mention that he hit both of them, which means that he hit as many kicks over 50 yds. as Jake did.  Moody shouldn't get rewarded for attempting four extra kicks that he missed.  And, even if you took out the 50+ yarders, Dunn still was better from 40-49 yds. and on all kicks under 50.  Jake is an awesome kicker, but the voters didn't exactly have a choice given the stats.

I have to believe Oluwatimi improved his NFL draft stock by coming to UM for one final year... that should bode well for future transfers into the program - Come here, to this big stage, and advance your future opportunities.

Give Moody credit, he tried quite a few kicks out of his range this year. He could have said “no” and his FG% would have looked even better to voters. Team player.

It's great to see Olu rake in the hardware, but I would like to see some love for Zak Zinter.  Having Zinter on his right really helped Olu look good.

The rest of the OL isn't chopped liver, either.

Well deserved.  Still feels like Corum was robbed for the Doak Walker because he got hurt at the end of the year and was "dinged" for playing behind a great offensive line.  Robinson is a really good back but the logic I kept seeing was "he played with a freshman QB" and...McCarthy is in the same class as Ewers.  Oh, and he also got to play against Big 12 defenses and the best one he faced was KSU (admittedly he did put up 200 yards against them), which would have been the 3rd or 4th-best Corum faced.

I'm OK with Bijan getting the Walker award. Would have loved, of course, to have seen Blake win, but this was a pretty close race once Corum missed the last 1.5 games.

Most AA teams have Blake and Bijan as 1st teamers.

What I saw the last two games is that we can win without Blake because JJ stepped up and The Don is a future star. Ewers can't carry the team. He stunk it up during their last two losses to Okie St and TCU.

Whatever criteria they use for close calls like this year's Doak, I don't know. But if it who is more valuable to their team when two guys are pretty even, Bijan gets the edge.

Anyway, Bijan is 13-11 these last 2 years, while Blake's team is 25-2.
