OT comment, but is tonight's game a maize out?
September 10th, 2022 at 9:28 AM ^
EVERY night game should be a Maize-Out.
Also, Hawaii should NEVER be a night game. What a waste of a great environment.

The program is helping out Hawaii with the time difference thing.
September 10th, 2022 at 10:08 AM ^
Is this truly a reason? I know Hawaii is no threat but most programs don't give a damn about convenienceing their opposition or their fan base.

Isnt it really about the Hawaii players. If we did a noon kickoff, that would be what — 6 am their time? Against a much physically superior opponent? It’d be unhealthy and certainly even less competitive. And moving 4 hours later to late-afternoon is only marginally better. It’s still be a 10 am kickoff to them.
And then you have to factor the jetlag, which for west-to-east is brutal for a day or two later esp from Hawaii to EST. If they were pros, they’d come out early in the week to get time-adjusted They may not really have that option (or the funds to house a whole college team an extra few nights).

"They (Texas) would be in the upper half of the SEC". This is what you get when you play "SEC quality teams".
-Nick Saban (arrogance)
If I replaced Texas with USC and SEC with Big Ten, I think that would sound incredibly insulting. If I were Sarkisian, I just might use that as motivation.

It truly says something about your slate of college football today when THIS is where Game Day goes. The Alabama Death Star against a team that is 20-15 the last three seasons.
Looking around, it is truly slim pickings. Maybe Florida/Kentucky? Baylor/BYU? Very few matchups that sound interesting at all. Southern Cal @ Stanford maybe? It's on the same time as our game with Hawaii but still interesting to see the Trojans go from 4-8 last season to already ranked in the top ten in week two.
But back to the "game of the day." Alabama is going to win by at least 35, and then they'll get sexually serviced by the media so hard you'd think they just destroyed a top five opponent. Yay?

There is always at least one week of the regular season that is a complete snoozer. Usually the second to last week is a snoozer too since the SEC is playing a bunch of snoozers before their respective rivalry games.
There could still end up being some really interesting games today, but yeah there’s always at least one week where no ranked teams play each other.

Craziest stat I heard today was that since the 2009 Championship Game, Bama has more 20 point wins than Texas has wins. That blew me away.

Jeez--who's the knucklehead in the blue jacket? Dude is seriously irritating.

Why is she even on this show? She's an empty head!

This looks like a decision by some Bristol front office exec that has never watched a college football game . . . to try to appeal to the Tik Tok generation that is not going to watch anyway.
So to summarize: She brings in no new viewers and she annoys the ones that do watch.

I thought Corso saying that Texas fans will not accept mediocrity was hilarious.
How does he believe that they have survived to this point?

So the Michigan preview was introduced as "the quarterback conundrum that Harbaugh has generated"... WTF?
September 10th, 2022 at 11:21 AM ^
Rain potentially in the forecast in Iowa City for later in their game vs ISU. Iowa’s offense may literally score even fewer points than last week; if you can somehow believe that.

WTF is Pat McAfee wearing?
September 10th, 2022 at 11:45 AM ^
That looks like something Grace Jones would wear. And wear better than he's wearing it.

Urban Meyer is sounding like Lee Corso today on Big Noon Kickoff. At least Corso has the excuse of being 87 years old.
September 10th, 2022 at 11:39 AM ^
Corso is also a stroke victim. He hasn't been the same since. He MADE Gameday back in the day.

Definitely a Legend
