College Football excitement ratings website
Hi everyone,
Starting from a few years ago, I hosted a (very simple) website to post my "Excitement Ratings" of all P5 games in college football in each week. The idea is if you don't know which games to watch, you can tune into the ratings to see which games are worth it to tune into.

Let me know if you guys have feedback!

I mean this is pretty random but also pretty cool. If you dont mind me asking how exactly do you determine the relative "excitement rankings" of each game?

Thanks! It's just a passion project I shared with a few friends, and thought some people would be interested here too.
I use three factors: How close the game is predicted to be, how good the teams are, and how much offense is expected. In past years I used computer rankings like SP+ for most of the inputs, but since that is under a paywall now I had to be a little more creative and used Sagarin and ESPN FPI.
I also use Vegas lines and Over/Under numbers since those are generally pretty accurate too

That's cool. You should provide where you can watch as well - especially when there's a game not televised on a major network that has a high excitement rating. Matt Sarz is the best place in the world to find out where you can watch each and every game.

Hey that's a cool website! Unfortunately I don't ever watch on actual TV networks, but I'll look into adding those to the page

I use the app "College Football Live Scores, Plays, & Schedules" during football season. It's very simple and easy to use. It has the broadcast network for each game, but I use it to keep track of scores. You can choose all FBS, Top 25, by conference, etc. It also gives you the game time for your time zone, which is helpful in Korea. Easy to see what game you might want to check in on at the moment. Or I'll use it to go through scores at the end of the day to just get a read on what happened and look at a few box scores.

I assume this website is used to help determine the TV Markets the Big10 should go after next?

Meanwhile in Columbus:

We are way ahead of this in Columbus. Obviously empty seats is a bad look for OSU, so we are coming up with ways to artificially adjust our reading test scores so we can get everyone in. We may be dumb, but damnit we are resourceful!

New and improved reading test:
"Here's a book. Can you read this?"
"Yes. T. H. I. S."
"No, I meant the book."
"B. U. K."
"Close enough."

If we can find multiple uses for a cooler, we can certainly figure out a way to pay off the testing company so we do not have to take this difficult test. I've been stockpiling Monopoly games in my basement, there are literally hundreds of thousands of dollars down there for this purpose.

I'm not too excited about lunch today, but I'm really looking forward to dinner.

I'm about to drive to the dispensary and pick up some new buds.
I'm excited about that.

Looking at past ratings. In what world is Maryland Rutgers more exciting than LSU Florida?
August 25th, 2021 at 3:05 PM ^
The single biggest factor for excitement is the Vegas line. A game with a 23-point favorite will almost always be less excitement than a game with only a 7-point favorite.
Of course LSU-Florida was a super cool game to watch last year, but not many people really predicted that to happen

This is a very cool idea! When I first got to college, I had a lot of friends who only wanted to watch good matches! And for me, any match was very important, because I really love football. I am currently writing an essay on sports, including how I admire football and why I love it. I really would not want to pay for an essay, but I have so little time. I found a good service [SPAM LINK DELETED; SPAMMER'S ACCOUNT BLOCKED] where I can find help, but I really want to write it myself. Because I have a lot to say on this topic. And especially after reading your articles and posts, I got a lot of inspiration and learned many facts! Thank you.
