Cody White to NFL
Spartans’ best offensive weapon on the way out. Not sure what next year’s going to look like, especially with no staff restructuring.

They are all deserting the mothership in EL!
January 10th, 2020 at 3:04 PM ^
The ship be sinkin.
January 10th, 2020 at 4:10 PM ^
Its a black hole in EL and it's got the wrong kind of funk...
January 10th, 2020 at 10:22 PM ^
Well, it does suck more than anything known to science . . .
January 10th, 2020 at 2:36 PM ^
It's going to look like a steaming pile of crap, jimmy.
January 10th, 2020 at 4:08 PM ^
Key word?
January 10th, 2020 at 4:14 PM ^
already does. always has.
January 10th, 2020 at 2:38 PM ^
If it was anybody but MSU(or OSU/ND), I'd feel bad for them.
It's hard to believe how hard and fast they've fallen. Dantonio lucky he pulled that 10 win season out of his butt in 2017, otherwise, he'd be below .500 the last four years. He really should leave before his record against us falls below .500. Heck, he should have left after beating us in 2017.
January 10th, 2020 at 2:42 PM ^
MSU 2020 is going to struggle to get to a bowl game. Their roster is complete trash, and their coaching may be worse. After next season they may actually put the pressure on Dantonio to retire. No way he lasts long enough to drop below .500 against uofm. But sending him out on a 4 game losing streak is very realistic.

Too soon to bring back 3-9 jokes?
January 10th, 2020 at 3:58 PM ^
I would upvote you 10-44 times if I could. Since I can’t, I’ll just read your post exactly 94 times.
January 10th, 2020 at 6:11 PM ^
It certainly is. Next year may well be 2-10.
January 10th, 2020 at 5:09 PM ^
I was thinking the exact same thing. If you look at the players they had in say 2014, it's shocking. They should have a statue of Jim Tressel in EL, after funneling all those plan B guys to his buddy.
This reason alone should make people very grateful of the job Harbs has done, because he stopped that momentum by shutting out the state. And combined with those Ohio players going to K and Cinci, MSU is hosed.
I digress. The upcoming classes in the state are key to our program to beat OSU. We must get guys like Spindler....
January 10th, 2020 at 2:39 PM ^
I hope Cousins has another good game or two in him (or three to be honest)
January 10th, 2020 at 2:40 PM ^
Is he leaving to be a 5-7 round pick ?? Wow. MSU really is in the downturn. I know it sucks that we are still behind OSU, but let’s celebrate that we have blown past MSU. Which 5 years ago, when Harbaugh got here, many wouldn’t have taken for granted. MSU fans still as of 3 years ago thought they were in better position for future success than uofm. So yes, we are not where we need to be. But we have still had a lot of fun moments lately.
January 10th, 2020 at 3:00 PM ^
Granted, the combine can certainly change draft stock; however, based on reports I've read and analyses I've heard, White's expected to be picked higher than DPJ.
Other than that, yes, it's hard to believe just how far they've fallen. I'll be curious to see who they bring in as their next coach.
January 10th, 2020 at 3:17 PM ^
Small chance white is picked higher than DPJ. DPJ has impact receiver potential. White does not.
January 10th, 2020 at 3:47 PM ^
DPJ is gonna kill it at the combine. His stock will rise substantially.
January 10th, 2020 at 8:10 PM ^
Put down the crack pipe. DPJ will go 100-150 picks ahead of White.
January 10th, 2020 at 3:29 PM ^
Yes this seems more like a running away vs running to situation. They are looking at hard times in EL.
January 10th, 2020 at 4:50 PM ^
This reminds me. What ever became of that Hollis guy that said he wasn't running "from" the situation, but "towards" it. Did he ever get there?
January 10th, 2020 at 6:09 PM ^
Perfectly said
January 10th, 2020 at 2:40 PM ^
Good for him. I could see him as a good move the chain kind of guy in the NFL

I’d be shocked if they won 6 games next season. I think 7 wins would be a masterful job considering what they have coming up. it’s safe to say sparty is falling into the gutter. Now if only we could get Ohio state to do the same ?
January 10th, 2020 at 2:54 PM ^
I'm thinking 4 without going through their schedule
January 10th, 2020 at 3:34 PM ^
I counted 6 wins tops with NW, In, BYU, and Maryland being dogfights. Toledo and Rutgers seem safe?
January 11th, 2020 at 1:00 AM ^
Windiana is for real. This season was not a fluke and I think they have room to grow. Their trainer is on the cutting edge doing some very cool stuff.
January 11th, 2020 at 1:09 PM ^
Indian is going to spank MSU next year. Tune in Monday's next fall to hear Mike Valenti tear his remaining hair out.
January 10th, 2020 at 2:57 PM ^
That non conference game against Miami (YTM) is a big time anxiety bowl.
January 10th, 2020 at 3:18 PM ^
Miami, @Iowa, Mich, OSU,@IU, Minnesota
If they lose to the U, look out.
January 10th, 2020 at 3:35 PM ^
NW- L
At BYU- L
Toledo- W
Miami- L
At Iowa- L
MI- L
OSU- L
At Indiana- L
Minnesota- L PJ Fleck will smack that ass
At PSU- L
Rutgers- OT W
At Maryland- L
2-10 Book it. I would not be shocked to see them lose to Toledo either.
January 10th, 2020 at 4:12 PM ^
And we thought that 3-9 was fun!
January 10th, 2020 at 4:16 PM ^
up vote for the Rutgers OT win
January 10th, 2020 at 6:17 PM ^
The whole point of Schiano was to get competitive quick, including playing heavily in the portal to do so. Maybe this wouldn’t be shocking.
January 10th, 2020 at 4:18 PM ^
Could be sitting on ZERO headed to Rutgers game
January 10th, 2020 at 4:34 PM ^
The thought of watching that smug ass Dantonio and obnoxious Spartan fans suffer through a zero win season might just cause me a euphoric meltdown.
Imagine the ratings boost for the Maryland finale.
January 11th, 2020 at 11:10 AM ^
I see wins vs NW, Toledo, Rutgers, and maaaaybe Maryland. Not sure re BYU. So I’m calling 4 wins next year.
January 10th, 2020 at 2:42 PM ^
I can’t wait to bury them in East Lansing next year.
January 10th, 2020 at 2:45 PM ^
"Coach said WHAT in the deposition!?!?"
January 10th, 2020 at 2:59 PM ^
After 10 long years, I am thoroughly enjoying MSU's slow death spiral
January 10th, 2020 at 3:04 PM ^
White will get drafted, that kid has really good hands with a big body. Had almost 1000 yards this year playing on that putrid offense.
January 10th, 2020 at 3:05 PM ^
MSU probably starts the year 1-6 in the B1G. They most likely win week 1 vs Northwestern. Then after their non-conference schedule which I could see them going 2-1 or 1-2 in they play: @Iowa, Michigan, OSU, @IU, Minnesota, and @Penn St.
January 10th, 2020 at 3:11 PM ^
I'm glad somebody else said this. I looked at their schedule and saw a 1-8 or 2-7 team going to Happy Valley, and that was before this news. The B1G schedule makers finally gave Sparty some respect and now they'd be lucky to go to the Quick Lane Bowl.
January 10th, 2020 at 3:16 PM ^
I’d say the best case scenario is that they: go 2-1 in non-conference slate and win B1G games over NW, IU or Minnesota, Maryland, and Rutgers. 6-6 probably the ceiling, 3-9 (again) is the floor
January 10th, 2020 at 4:12 PM ^
Week 1 might not be a sure thing either - Northwestern seems to be inexplicably good in years when everyone writes them off.
January 10th, 2020 at 5:06 PM ^
That was 2018... they're good once every 4 years
January 10th, 2020 at 3:06 PM ^
What's funny is that at one point they could've had him, Trishton Jackson and KJ Hamler on the field at the same time. If MSU was smart, they'd chuck Dantonio before the 14th and promote one of their assistants. If they're going to be terrible, at least they can save a few bucks.
January 10th, 2020 at 3:22 PM ^
i kind of feel bad for jackson (i used to work a former teacher that tought at WB when jackson was there)... that kid busted his ass to get his grades up in summer school just to get into MSU (one of the various reasons why Michigan stayed away from him) and to my understanding MSU didn't offer him any help when his grades started to slip and basically let him flunk out of school... at least he was able to get this crap together and have an awesome year at Syracuse...
