Why this post didn’t highlight JoeyV’s 8th inning pinch hit 3 run HR to win the game no one will ever know!  Talk about burying the lead fact of a game!  This is a sports blog?

For those that called him to be fired arent you glad they brought him Bakich?

Oh, and it was JoeyV’s first at bat of the season because he’s been busy at football practices!  I’m sure Coach B would rather the media coverage focus on his player’s stellar performance.

DailySportsEditor: You could call for me to get 50 lashings or you could've just written something like this:

"In Bakich's 300th win, Joey Vasquez, a linebacker for the Michigan football team, hit a three run home run to take the lead in his first at bat of the season. Vasquez was with the football team during spring baseball workouts, which makes the shake-off-the-rust home run even more of a highlight. It was the difference in the 7-4 win by the Wolverines."

Meanwhile, down in Kentucky, the softball women run-ruled Kent State 13-0. First year pitchers, Widra and Derkowski, teamed up to throw a one-hitter...struck out 7. Michigan turns right around and plays the highly ranked host Kentucky-am guessing Beaubien will be the starter.

Coach Bakich gets 300th win in victory over Maryland - Praise the guy!

(Sorry. That headline, though intended as a joke, just feels negative.)

When my son played youth baseball, he got all his teammates to say “GooGameGooGameGooGame” in the (handshake) high five line after the game. Fun watching the boys giggle as I trailed them.

Congrats Coach Bakich
