Maybe the Lakers will hire him back a second time too. Didn't really work out too well here for Mike without LeBron.
Cleveland Cavs Fire Mike Brown (part II)
Was he the one who decided to draft Bennett?
No - the guy who drafted Bennett (Chris Grant) also hired Brown and he got fired mid-season.
No, but not sure who else they were supposed to draft.
Izzo to Cleveland rumors in 5..4..3..
I'd rather have Izzo stay in EL. We know that we can beat them. Maybe they can find someone better maybe not but I think the status quo is pretty good for Michigan basketball. We've pretty much bested them in everything besides BTT tourny titles lately and our recruiting seems to be doing better than them.
If Izzo gets an offer, he should take it. As long as he has to recruit against John Beilein, Tom Izzo isn't going to get as much talent as he has historically attracted to EL. I detest all things Sparty, but Izzo did a great job with his team this year.
I think this is his last chance to maximize his market value. If an offer comes from anyone in the NBA, he should take it before he is exposed as what he is: a decent college coach but not the "legend" the media make him out to be.
Damn shows how closely I follow the nba... Had no idea mike brown was back in Cleveland and assumed my update system was messed up
He is definitely NOT the first guy to be hired and fired by the same owner.....
This pairing immediately came to my mind.
were drinking buddies. most of the firings involved a too much ETOH. the hires involved sobering up.
Anyone else just get an ESPN update on their phone saying Browns fire Mike Brown. I thought that was kinda funny.
Then received a correction text right after. Thought that was funny as well and took me a minute to figure out that it was an error
Brown's ran out of coaches to fire, so they moved on to the Cavs...
Maybe the Browns can fire Donald Sterling too, if it's not too late.
Why did they think it would work out any better the second time around? Lebron's the only reason he held that job as long as he did the first time.
Is going be very rich if he continues to sign multi-year contracts and then getting fired before the termination dates.
But never as successful at that game as Larry Brown.
Tornado warning. Let's go crazy!
Can't believe they hired him again. Hated the decision from the beginning and I'm glad the Cavs can go a separate way and maybe hire a guy worthwhile.
Bleacher Report has it that tweets of Cavs may target some college coaches including Coach Beilein...No reason at all to worry as of now but when i read it i just gave a quick "Dont let that gain ANY steam please" and i am a Cavs fan ...but mainly because of Mark Price..However, Go Blue trumps all that
That Beilein is very happy in Ann Arbor and would like to retire here. Both he and his wife really love the community, bought a beautiful house and are enjoying the community.
I would be absolutely shocked if Coach left and add some icing if it was for the Cavs mess of an organization..Im just bringing a rumor from Adrian Wojnarowski of NBA Yahoo twitter here
I believe that in repeated interviews dating back a few years, he's basically said that he has made his last move and would like to retire as the coach of the Michigan Wolverines basketball team, even saying that he figures he might have a decade or so left in him. I don't remember the exact quote, but I think that's more or less the gist of it. Having Beilein for nearly another decade would potentially lead to a nice little run - I would be absolutely floored if he said anything different.
but I'm almost positive the article you're talking about was published Thnanksgiving Day 2012.
I can't think of anybody less likely to leave for the NBA than John Beilein.
Just logged in to say OH HELL YEAH!
I'm glad DG didn't have too much pride to admit he screwed up.
understood why the NBA and NFL hire these "re-tread" coaches whom have failed miserably in the past. "Mike Brown went to the finals!" Yea, so could I as a coach of Lebron. Let's just give Mo Cheeks his 4th chance to suck instead of giving an up and coming assistant a shot.
