I always liked Chris Webber. He was a good guy and he deserves thism he really does. I don't think what he did was so horrible right? I mean we all need a time out now and then and he just wanted one at the wrong time. Guys I really hope everyone can stick together through these tough times.  I know Matt democrat is doing well and I think he sells houses or insurance not something. Right? Anyway, it's been a tough decade for football but I think we can stick together and hopeful nhave happy times aging would that be something?! Especially after the year we've had and all the things we've had to overcome it would be fantastic bro get some good vibes back up in Thai bitch. Also Rgard can go fucknhimselfbbcninlove that guy but I hate him

It's been nearly 30 years since he played here.  At what point are people going to stop lying to themselves and deal with the reality that college athletes have been getting stuff under the table forever?  The vast majority of the time there is no paper trail, so the NCAA can't prove it, but to pretend it doesn't happen is ridiculous.

Webber's problem was that his source of cash got in trouble with the Feds, so there was a paper trail.  That's all.  To view him a bad guy over this is so dumb.

Wow, 2nd former UM player to get elected in as many years. Before Harbaugh invited him back/Juwan was hired, I might have been nervous about what he would say about the University, but after hearing what he's said the last few years it sounds like he still cares about the school. Obviously isn't without his blemishes (especially the last few days with his ouster at TNT) but so happy a member of the Fab 5 has reached this point in their career. Congrats Chris!

Well deserved. Even with injury trouble, Webber was a beast at his peak. With his passing and shooting ability, I think he’d be even more of a force in today’s game. Ahead of his time

Good for him. It's justified by his production on the court.

I've said this before, but I think he would've been even better if he'd stayed closer to the basket.

I don’t know - He was really good as a playmaker in the high post.

He was a phenomenal athlete but also developed a really nice skill set.  Even in college he could drain the occasional three, and he was a very good passer.  He was slightly ahead of his time.

He came very close to winning it all at each level (high school, college, NBA).  If Sacramento had won it in 2002, he’d have probably been a first- ballot HOFer.

Well deserved.  I still believe CWebb and the Kings were robbed of an NBA title in 2002.   They were the best team that year and outplayed the Lakers in the playoffs.  But they couldn't beat the refs.  That Kings team might have been the best passing team ever with CWebb as a phenomenal passer at power forward.

Totally were robbed, I was a kings fan living nearby those years. After CWebb was done there I quit watching the nba. I went to a lot of the games back then, I was so hurt. Then the NBA blocked a 30 for 30 on that year also. They wanted LA to make a dynasty run at the cost of ruining a fantastic team.

I’m excited to see who speaks at his induction. I keep watching all the Open Court shows and he seems to have an excellent relationship with so many greats. I imagine Shaq will talk at his induction. Would love to see Juwan talk too. I know that Isaiah really likes him too and is such a great speaker. Congrats and well deserved.

So glad to hear this news about CWebb. I still remember the first time I heard about him, I'm originally from the Grand Rapids area and there was this Christmas bball tournament that was happening during my freshmen year of college. During the tourney the GR Press kept raving about this man-sized sophomore kid from Detroit Country Day by the name of Chris Webber. Seemed like a likeable kid so I started following his career from that point and was happy as all get out that he picked UM as his college of choice. I wish he had been able to win a National Championship at UM but he had a great career and he made bball exciting and fun. Thanks for the memories!
