To Cheer, or Not to Cheer

Submitted by Route66 on
So I am 29 years old and watching another season of bowls. I am a very prideful and loyal guy. I really, really want the B10 to win to show we are not a bunch of slow, big fat idiots. (we know this to be not true...see 2008 Cap 1 Bowl) But WE are the only ones who know that and cannot have a decent argument when other teams consistantly lay eggs in the bowls. How in the heck do I hope that MSU wins for the B10? I hate them. Same for OSU. PSU I can cheer for as I like Joe Pa and they are not as hateable, same as Iowa. You all know what I am dealing with. Please help.

I really don't think it matters. How these other teams do has no real bearing on our football program whatsoever. If some redneck wants to talk shit about the fact that Minnesota lost, just laugh at him.

I can't pull for MSU this year because I work with an MSU grad. I'm pulling for everybody else (even tOSU). Once you have to see these people every day, it is a different story. Watching the 'Dawgs beat them was so sweet.

All I hear on local sports talk shows here in Vegas is how B10 football is archaic and weak. I'm rooting for all B10 teams to help lend credibility to UM's schedule. I don't know how many times I've sat at a sports booking/bar during games and people talk smack about B10- esp UM this year.

I'm rooting AGAINST Michigan State and Ohio State. I'm rooting FOR the rest of the Big Ten teams. I probably would have rooted for MSU before Dantonio came along and showed how much of an asshole he is.

i'm content with the power of the Big Ten! lol. seriously, for those of you (probably most all of you) who don't follow wrestling, go look at the Big Ten. #1 Iowa is the defending national champs. #6 is Ohio State, #7 Minnesota (national champs 2 years ago), #8 Illinois, #10 Wisconsin, #15 Michigan, #16 Penn State, #18 Indiana, #20 Northwestern, Others receiving votes has Purdue. Only Michigan State receives zero recognition. In addition, six of the ten weight classes have a Big Ten kid ranked #1 in the country. Thanks for listening to my random thoughts. Oh by the way, I'm off to watch Minnesota vs Oklahoma State as my best friend from high school is starting for Minnesota at 149 today!

Also rooting against those D-Bags Dantonia and Sweater vest. I absolutely hate them and would love to see both of them get spanked. Not only does it make me happy to see them lose, but given their proximity to us them losing also helps our recruiting. Recruiting against tuos hasn't helped our cause with all the Ohio prospects when they've been to 3 straight BCS games. Everyone else in the B10 I will definitely be rooting for.

when they beat Miami for the NC. And that game, I could only kinda root for them. I detest OSU, but I absolutely DESPISE Miami. I want MSU to look good and PSU to beat USC. I want the B10 to look good, but honestly, I hope Texas drills OSU into the ground, using Pryor as the bit. I have a funny feeling that PSU is in a lot of trouble today. So far, Sparty is holding their own, but I think that will change also. Georgia has a very fast defense and Moreno is the real deal.

I think the Vest is one of the most over rated coaches in the country. Where would this OSU team be without T. Pryor the late incoming freshmen? Before T. Pryor selected OSU, all the Nat. Championship hype for this team made me sick. What happened to the power of the vest? Yes, He can recruit-but coach? I'm not impressed-and I'm sick of the OSU hype.

i hate ohio state (i'm actually wearing the t-shirt right now). if you would've asked me to root for either team in a bowl game versus satan himself 10 years ago I would've worn a "go lucifer" t-shirt. but 10 years ago i moved to GA and it is unbearable down here with all the egotistical SEC fans. constantly bashing the b10. When we are playing well the argument is "who do you play?" and when we are rebuilding the comment is "you'll never have SEC speed!" since being down here i can't help but root for any big ten school playing out of conference just to put the b10 bashing to rest.
