Chances of five-star QB Ricky Town defecting from Bama?

Submitted by Cold War on

#2 QB of 2015 class on Rivals.

Numerous mentions on the possibility in the Bama forum with the Nussmeier defection.

I don't even have a Twitter account. I just did a search for "Ricky Town" to see if the experts had immediate reactions on how this might impact him, so this came up. I agree totally with your point.

A guy that has had success in SEC, great philosophy for the guys we have, has been around the atmosphere of the best program there is, and can recruit in SEC country. This is a miracle, honestly though i just pissed my pants

"Just got a text from Bama QB commit Ricky Town. Sounds like he's solid with Alabama, excited to meet the new OC there." We can all calm down a bit...

Does this in any way, shape, or form possibly get Hand to re-think his commitment? A coordinator leaving the school he committed to for the other school? Possible?

I know it's just a pipe dream, but I'd rather have Hand or Campbell than Town.  We already have Morris and Speight.  Need MOAR playmakers on the D-line and WR.

Probably won't have any impact, but one can dream...

Good hire, not just for the team going forward, but to put some optimism into the UM players, coaches, and fans to start 2014 and during the long off-season.  I'd rather dream of this situation for the next 8 months than the lump of coal that was our situation 24 hours ago.

The odds of UM getting any Bama commits are barely above 0.  There's not even a month left before signing day.  Other than Hand, have any of the Bama recruits visited Ann Arbor or had much contact with Hoke or any of the other staff besides Nuss?

Guys aren't just going to drop Bama and turn their eyes toward UM.  If anything of them might have doubts about Bama with Nuss leaving, they'd more then likely start looking at the other schools that were at the top of their list.

The one recruit that maybe the hiring of Nuss has an affect on could be the running back from MN.  The running game was garbage at UM the last 2 years and now Hoke brings in a guy who was the OC for one of the best rushing attacks in the country the last 3 years.

The M Block talked to a bunch of 2015 QBs and it sounds like Nuss had a great relationship with Kyle Kearns.  Will be interesting to see who jumps to the top of the list now.  I know a lot of people on here wouldn't mind seeing Kearns be the guy.  We'll also have to wait and see what happens with that strange Sills offer.

Woah, Nellie.  Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.  'Bama is still 'Bama.  Michigan isn't going to pirate their recruits away left and right, if they get any of Nussmeier's connections at all.
