CC: Kevin Willard

I haven't Kevin Willard, Seton Hall's head coach, brought up much at all so I thought we could take a deeper look. He has been the head coach at Seton Hall since 2010 racking up a 170-128 record, including an 88-47 record over the past 4 years. He has also lead them to the NCAA Tournament in those previous 4 seasons.

Willard did just turn down more money at Virginia Tech to stay with Seton Hall, but I would be surprised if Manuel hasn't taken a look at him. Seton Hall's offensive and defensive efficiencies have both been in the top 100 since 2016 and he seems to improve each year. If there's a negative, it would have to be recruiting as he's consistently had between the 3rd and 8th ranked recruiting classes in the Big East each year. His highest ranked class was 16th back in 2014 and since then, it's mainly been between 60-80.

Seton Hall was a part of the FBI investigation due to an assistant coach accepting money from an agency as well as a player in 2014-15, but Willard has not been named directly by the FBI or considered responsible. He also happens to be a part of the Rick Pitino coaching tree and the nature of these violations are similar to Chris Mack when he was with Xavier.

What do you guys think? Is there enough upside to outweigh the negatives? Personally, I think him coaching at a program that has been included in these FBI reports most likely takes him off the list for serious consideration.

I hate you, I hate you, I don't even know you and I hate your guts. I hope all the bad things in life happen to you and nobody else, but you!

How long until some jack-wagon is making a CC thread bringing up some obscure coach who has already been discussed ad nauseam in an earlier CC thread?

I feel like we're close to this point.
