Maybe Hoke will take the Tulsa job, assuming that he's not getting a 5th year here.

OOH, I do not need to read every forum post that is irrelevant.
OTOH, I am compulsively unable to resist any CC: post whatsoever, including anything irrelevant.
More moderation from posters is requested, so that us addicts won't have to read this drivel.
And in the meantime -- anyone know how to get a bag of spare F5 keys? Cuz, I think I'll need them in December.

To help with this, of course, we've started to remove - in order to spare some space for those rare non-CC threads - the ones which were meant as a joke (unless good effort was put in, of course), ones for coaches in other sports, fictional characters, etc... Still, it will not alleviate the problem of obsessively refreshing to see which ones appear, although the reason the mods do it is perhaps slightly different (well, no, I want to know too usually).

Apparently only UM has a football banquet that they need to retain their coach for. Everyone seems to be acting accordingly.

You're underestimating the problem. The food catering contract was signed months ago, and Hackett is worried that he'll have to deal with a mountain of uneaten chicken parmesan, overcooked brussels sprouts, stale rolls, and a small lake of box wine and cheap beer if he cans the staff prior to the banquet.

I know someone who can help eat it:

Don't worry... Michigan isn't looking at attractive coaching options, likely only Michigan Men. These other universities have nothing to worry about, by the time we fire Hoke everyone will have filled their openings.

We can't begin our search until January 1, 2015 because of $1,000,000.00 so I expect all the attractive options to be gone by then.

I truly cannot believe that Hoke is the only coach in America to have a reduced buyout as of Jan 1, XXXX. Other coaches are getting canned, some of them have to have a Jan 1 reduced buyout....WTF is Michgan's problem?!?!

You may be right about Hoke. But how many other Athletic Departments are run by CEOs who have no experience in Athletics?

I pretty clearly stated that this will affect us if we have to go the coordinator route. Chad Morris has already been picked off by SMU. Tom Herman could be next, who was espoused as a promising candidate around these parts.

Yes. Which is why this post is ridiculous. If we decided Tom Herman was the guy we really wanted, and we called him to say "Hey Tom, instead of being the HC at fucking Tulsa, would you like about 2 million a year more to be the HC at Michigan?" The answer would be a resounding yes.
And if Herman is our pick, he'll likely know about it sooner rather than later, or at least that he's in the hunt. And if he's in the hunt at Michigan, I bet he doesn't settle for Tulsa. He's a pretty smart guy, after all.

Hoke to Tulsa?
Please?

Dear Hackett,
Please make sure Harbaugh's buyout falls on Dec 1st and not Jan 1st. Thanks in advance! :P

Jim Harbaugh would never need a buyout. If he performed as badly as this staff has, his resignation would have been negotiated and finished over the weekend.
