I don't see Tillman's pick in this link: just Barnharts take. Either way, I don't trust national media when it comes to Michigan Football. MGOBlog has the real (close to the situation) facts that I like. If his prediction is correct, I will be happy for quite some time. But my guess he hasn't seen one Michigan game this year and is basing the entire prediction on a flimsy wim.

I think he's right in that Michigan's biggest and probably only advantage is OSU not quite playing at full intensity having already clinched the Rose Bowl. Not to mention the fact that they've won so many in a row in this series. To me this game reminds me a bit of 2004. Michigan had already clinched the Rose Bowl and just never got going on the road. Hopefully the same thing happens to OSU tomorrow. Probably unlikely considering how prepared Tressel teams always seem to be in this rivalry, but we can hope right?!

OSU is usually very prepared for UM. However, I don't reallly think they will be as prepared this time. They will think they are, but they won't be. All week, everyone able to state an opinion has told everyone on the OSU team that they have odorless feces. They are always fired up for this game, but their streak is now at the point where it is a liability. They will say the right things, but I just don't think Tressel will be able to fully get through to them the importance of playing with desperation because they are not desperate. Also, I don't think Terelle Pryor is mature enough to help Tressel bring the team's collective ego in line. Will the difference in the intensity level be enough for UM to pull off the major upset? I don't know, but it certainly can't hurt.

I tend to agree with you that overconfidence could be an issue. The OSU defense is the real deal, but I don't think their offense is impressive at all. They couldn't score on a Purdue team that gave up 37 to Wisco and 36 to UM. They couldn't score on a USC defense that just got smacked in the mouth Stanford, allowed Oregon to move the ball at will and let Oregon State put up a lot of points. It wouldn't surprise me if OSU shows up expecting to win by just stepping on the turf and plays sloppy in the early going.

Michigan had not already clinched the Rose Bowl in 2004. After losing the game, we needed Iowa to beat Wisconsin to get in. This game, however, does remind me a bit of 2004. Several OSU fans were calling for Tressel's head after losing to Iowa 33-7. OSU had a rough season until that game and since then it's been pretty damn nice in Columbus. Hopefully tomorrow does the same for us.
