B1G games have become a joke and unwatchable.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:15 PM ^
Yet you watch them.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:41 PM ^
Rutgers game was classic basketball. This piece of shit was having ESPN calling it the worst officiating they have seen this year - both sides not just against UM. Just night and day different separated by 3 days? How can players adjust to this dramatic of a difference ?
B1G officiating sucks all around in every sport. With replay and expert announcers how can the league employ these clowns ?

Terry Wymer says hold my beer
February 4th, 2020 at 9:06 PM ^
Wymer calls a lot of tic tak fouls but at least he's consistent. Carstensen doesn't know what a foul is.
February 4th, 2020 at 10:48 PM ^
I wish an elephant would take a huge shit on Terry Wymer’s head - that is all
February 4th, 2020 at 9:00 PM ^
Terry Wymer frequently fucks us as well.
February 4th, 2020 at 10:26 PM ^
Isn’t Wymer from Ohio?
February 4th, 2020 at 9:00 PM ^
Hard not to be completely Nihilistic as an M fan.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:01 PM ^
He's a big bald fuck but it's tough to say who's the worst
February 4th, 2020 at 9:02 PM ^
He is the O'Neil of basketball. Always fucks us
February 4th, 2020 at 9:02 PM ^
This reffing is ridiculous
February 4th, 2020 at 9:03 PM ^
Seemed to me he grabbed him to stop a fall caused by a hack job. Just a coincidence the ref is also a hack job?
February 4th, 2020 at 9:07 PM ^
Thought the same thing. If OSU had better quality jerseys it would be an issue.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:08 PM ^
Seemed like a play on to me. You are going to call a flagrant in that situation after our guys got pushed out of bounds multiple times? I wonder how much Gene Smith paid him to ref.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:08 PM ^
How the fuck do you watch a guy falling down and reaching to stop his fall and call him for a flagrant, in the last minute of game where you haven't called anything?
February 4th, 2020 at 9:08 PM ^
Warde should be fired if he doesn’t say something following this clusterfuck. Beyond awful officiating. That was literally the worst call ever and directly contributed to the loss at home against a rival. If players can’t reach out as they fall to the ground, then the officials are saying they need to risk injuring themselves or be called for an F1. Bullshit.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:26 PM ^
Who’s Warde? It seems familiar but can’t place it. Sounds like a guy who just sits on his ass and does nothing while people on Mgoblog rabidly defend him. I really dislike the sounds of that guy.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:09 PM ^
Can someone explain? I assume you're talking about Z's layup where he was fouled. I was listening to the radio, then while they were reviewing it I had to get out. Why did OSU end up with free throws on top of Z's?
February 4th, 2020 at 9:10 PM ^
I think I got it from the last couple posts, but I'll have to see a replay. Shocking that we again get screwed!
/s
February 4th, 2020 at 9:11 PM ^
Z got pushed going up for a layup and grabbed bucknut jersey while falling to not land on his head. He ripped the jersey while falling and they called a tech on him.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:13 PM ^
If the OSU guy's jersey hadn't ripped, there is a 0% chance that gets reviewed. Hurray for shitty sweatshop manufacturing.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:11 PM ^
With all of the shit they didn’t call in that game, they call a flagrant on a guy trying to keep himself upright. I used to think leaving the B1G was silly, but the idea is growing on me. Fuck the B1G.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:13 PM ^
Ya the refs sucked both ways. That's not why they lost. Michigan did their usual, can't make open shots, can't make layups. Can't defend the post, can't get loose balls. Teske was a total chump. Brooks hit some big 3s but also missed a ton and steps out of bounds at least once a game. Dejulius should just start jacking shots up every game...Why not? Everyone else does.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:14 PM ^
I only remember one flagrant foul called in the last minute, so actually yeah, it did kind of affect the outcome.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:20 PM ^
This game shouldn't have been close. Like I said, they played like hot garbage all game long. Sure it was a shit call, but you honestly believe Michigan was going to pull this game out if that wasn't called? I don't.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:29 PM ^
So, your argument is basically: "Yeah, it was a horrible, game-deciding call, but . . . LOOK AT THAT DOG! IT'S BROWN!"
February 4th, 2020 at 9:42 PM ^
Your analogy makes no sense to me sorry. I bet you think the "spot" was game deciding to. Disregard Speights 2 turnovers or the defense having the ball carrier in the backfield. It's all the refs 100% of the time.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:50 PM ^
So are you actually saying that “the spot,” which if called the other way would have ended the game with us winning, WASN’T game deciding? That’s....an opinion.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:54 PM ^
I'm saying you don't CRY refs for LOSING games. That's a loser mentality. Make a play, get the stop. Don't put it in the refs hands in the first place. Damn right it's an opinion, and a rare one with fellow Michigan fans that want to go right to the refs every damn time.
February 4th, 2020 at 10:03 PM ^
You seem to feel sorry for the officials. I feel bad for the players, who have a right to not get fucked over in the last minute of a game. The refs chose to insert themselves into the outcome with that call. That was their decision. It was a routine OSU foul until they decided to review and add a phantom flagrant call on top of it. You do that, deal with the heat that follows.
February 4th, 2020 at 10:25 PM ^
Don't feel sorry for the officials at all. There was non calls committed by both teams, it was poorly officiated for both sides. I look at what Michigan wasn't doing to win basketball games. Shooting, bad turnovers, bad defense etc.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:21 PM ^
Bullshit. Yes, Michigan’s continued struggles cost them the game. But so did the officiating! Up 1 w/ 33 seconds left became down 1 w/ 33 seconds left. Ya don’t think that had an impact?
February 4th, 2020 at 9:26 PM ^
Sure it had an impact, just like missing layups and countless open shots. I'm just not that fan that blames the refs for losing like 90% of the people here.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:34 PM ^
I’m with you on this one, yes it was a terrible call, and the officiating was BAD, but we missed 4 point blank layups tonight 3 from franz and 1 from Teske, I saw ZERO easy layup misses from OSU, that’s 8 points, the foul was 2.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:44 PM ^
MaineGoBlue Exactly...Shoot like 33% and have almost 3x the turnovers as OSU...You don't deserve to win.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:47 PM ^
So OSU down one with 33 seconds to suddenly up one with 33 seconds and the ball doesn’t impact the game? It was a brutal and unnecessary call. And they had to review it to make the call which makes it 100x worse. All 3 refs should be fired not just for making that call
February 4th, 2020 at 9:51 PM ^
The only reason they went to the monitor is because Simpson ripped practically the whole front of his jersey. So call it dumb on Simpson, call it unfortunate that he did that, or call it the refs suck. It does not matter, Michigan played absolute horrible basketball. I'm just not the guy that's going to blame refs on a night where they shoot 33%, Teske plays like an absolute chump etc etc
February 4th, 2020 at 10:04 PM ^
I'm so tired of the "you can't blame refs" argument. You want to put yourself in position to win plain and simple. Bad things will happen every game. You'll miss free throws. You'll miss layups. You'll turn the ball over. So, yes, technically, you can say you should've done one thing differently to win that one possession game. Point is...you do your best to put your team in the best position to win. If the refs butcher a call, they should absolutely be blamed. Otherwise, what's the point of evaluating officials?
Why evaluate officials if you can just say the team should've done something different?
February 4th, 2020 at 10:23 PM ^
Because 99/100 the refs don't determine the outcome of a game. But according to most Michigan fans I guess that's more like 10/100.
February 5th, 2020 at 2:01 AM ^
In this case, the refs decided 1/1 games. That’s the point
February 4th, 2020 at 9:13 PM ^
Wow. The B1G has become like the WWE and is just hot garbage basketball. Looks like tag-team wrestling. The officiating in this game embarrassing.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:15 PM ^
Who's 2nd worst? How do you evaluate all the college officials?
February 4th, 2020 at 9:16 PM ^
Big Ten officiating this year isn't bad, its CORRUPT
You could tell by halftime the refs had a gameplan. They were ignoring obvious contact all game long yet choosing certain ticky tacky fouls to call
February 4th, 2020 at 10:08 PM ^
They were doing whatever possible to keep Wesson out of foul trouble. Most of the most egregious no calls were plays that involved Wesson. It’s clear they got some direction from the league to do so.
February 4th, 2020 at 10:10 PM ^
After the shit show that was the Iowa game you’d expect some consistency and get some home court calls like the Hawkeyes did. Instead you get what we had tonight. ESPN calling out the ref crew for not calling hacks, cutters getting jammed, and pushing guys out of bounds. what’s is consistent was that we got the shit end of the stick when it got to crunch time of a tight game.
February 4th, 2020 at 11:21 PM ^
This is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH!!! Baldy is a Wisconsin alum. Let that sit in for a spell! I knew we were doomed from the opening tip!!!! Think about it the spread changed before the game it was 2.5 then miraculously it became a 1.5 point spread. You can’t blame the refs for this one because it was on purpose. You have to blame the corruptors. What a farce.
February 5th, 2020 at 5:54 AM ^
I liked the one where Wesson literally hip checked Z out of bounds and the refs just reacted like that's a normal basketball play
February 4th, 2020 at 9:16 PM ^
That really was unwatchable. That entire crew was incompetent and should lose their jobs as officials and stick to being dentists or insurance salesmen or whatever it is they pretend to do in their day jobs.
February 4th, 2020 at 9:42 PM ^
I'd hate to have one of them as a dentist. They would probably drill my ear drum out.
