Buying Tix on Stubhub

Submitted by sansan on

Quick question guys. If I’m buying tickets on stubhub for this Saturday’s game, do I need to print them out or can I just show the tickets on my phone?

I see that many of the tickets have instant download. Just wondering if I can buy tickets right before the game to try and get a better price or if I’d need access to a printer.

Thanks in advance!

No offense OP but if you want tickets to this weekend's game just bring $20 and a friend to stadium blvd at about 11:00 am or so and I'm SURE you can score two without any problem.

In my experience instant download means you can download and print them right away, rather than having to wait for an actual ticket to get mailed to you. Don't think stubhub has it where you can get tickets to show on your phone but I could be wrong.

Yeah just use the app to buy your tickets. Don't need a printer. Just did this a week ago for a preseason nfl game. buy from app, QR code ticket appears, add ticket to wallet.

If they are instant download you should be able to use them right from your phone through the app without having to print.

But you'll get a good seat for $20 before the game without fees, so I'd do that.

FYI - if anyone is looking for a hotel room for this weekend, I just cancelled mine at Hilton Garden Inn at Briarwood

I think they may have a couple rooms open, but at least one for sure.

Just in case anyone is looking for a room last minute.

One thing about StubHub that I learned the hard way is that there is a cutoff (I think it's two hours) before the event start time after which you can no longer purchase tickets on StubHub. A couple of years ago, I was monitoring tickets to a MLB game on StubHub with the idea that I'd buy them about an hour before the game, but I got locked out because of this cutoff. Had to pay face value at the box office at the stadium instead. Not sure if this policy still exists, but something to be maybe be aware of.

Yep. This happened to me as a seller too for some concert tickets. I was informed by SH my tickets didn't sell, but it was still several hours before the show and the tickets were instant download and mobile. So I checked and SH was still selling some tickets. I called to ask what happened and they said the terms make it clear that my tickets couldn't be sold after x time before the show, so I asked why they were still selling tickets then and she told me that they still sell tickets from certain premium sellers after that cut-off. It looked to me like these premium sellers were ticket reselling companies. I was pissed.

Sorry for the mini rant, but, yeah, you're definitely right about selling cut-offs and that buyers need to watch out for them.

I've had many similar experiences in buying last-min and day-of tix on SH and other resellers, in AA, Detroit, Houston, and others - availability almost completely goes away at X time before the show (varies depending on venue).

Many places will instantly triple in minimum get-in price the morning of, as 90%+ of available stock gets locked out, regardless if 'instant download' is available or not.

Buyer alert - do not wait for the VERY last minute if purchasing online.  This game, score some $20 tix on-site point-of-purchase.  In general, I would secure online tix a minimum of 4 hours in advance, however.

Like everyone else says, expect prices to plummet by Saturday morning. If you're worried about counterfeit tickets, just buy it on Stubhub that morning and you'll have the tickets on your phone.

So the program is soooo stable.

I have 8 season tickets and 3 people are going. Hell, this board complains and whines then bails. I went to Ohio at home when all you posters that "support" the team, on a blog, but sell their tickets to the enemy.

We almost won that game behind Gardner.

So who needs tickets or just wants to complain with no action.

Imo stubhub charges wayyyyyy too much in fees, was buying tickets for the "Game" until i say $400 in fee's fuck that.  Bought better tickets @ the ticket master exchange paying only $80 in fees.

Wait until most teams are all digital and no hard tickets.  Like the Wings and Pistons, and probably soon the Tigers.  They will be the only game in town.  The fees go up the Pro teams get a nice kickback for being the 'official ticket reseller of _____ "

Meanwhile the season ticket holder gets screwed because Stubhub gets fees from the seller too,  and the ticket broker bots will undercut any price.

They will hide behind cost,  counterfeiting (printing pdf's),  and controlling who comes into the stadium.  All of these just hide the fact it's about money.

StubHub is direct to your phone and you can do it game day around 9am and get a great deal.  You also can pinpoint your price and section, row ahead of time so best way to maximize value.  Don't scalp outside the stadium as you will get taken with a dumpy section at a stupid low price.  Get a good seat for this game - it will be cheap on game day via Stub Hub.

yeah you can just download. Only issue I had was the shitty cell service by the stadium lol. You can find tickets for the next two games for $20-$35.

I never had problems getting tickets right before kick off or tip of football and basketball. Maybe that just depends on the venue? I've never experienced a cut off. I got row A tickets for $40 each, 15 mins before kick vs Colorado and $12, mins before tip vs Minnesota in basketball.
