GET AWAY FROM OUR CORNERBACK PROSPECT! GET OFF OUR LAWN!

Look who thinks he's clever Dan. Maybe he'll shock the world and pull a DG and burn his offer letter....
/a man can hope.

OSU's chances are slowly fading with Lamarcus Joyner, so yeah, they hit up a big CB prospect in Christian. This is a battle that we need to win; we've lost too many recruiting battles with OSU, especially on the D side of the ball.

Part of his rationale, early on, to drag his recruitment out was because he wanted to gain a lot of recognition.
He wanted to go to as many camps, combines, and see how many offers he would get as an uncommitted prospect.
I talked to him the other day, and he said we're still in the lead. He REALLY liked his visit to Ohio State, which was during the USC game.
He saw that atmosphere, and still says we're his leader. Obviously, anything can happen, but Michigan is ok, as of now.

you have overted another recruiting rumor disaster. He just can't go to tOSU. When is he coming to a game?

i think he's coming for Ohio State.

shit

While I share your optimism, I would note that when you talked to him he didn't have an OSU offer. It's easy just to name leaders for those teams that have actually offered, especially at this late stage. As you said, "he REALLY liked his visit to Ohio State" and is now trying to schedule another one. I'm not sure it's still open and shut for UM at this point.

let's hope he's an offer collector. our defensive board is thinning fast. it looks like we're going to miss on ifill who wants to play WR. missing on CC would hurt.

Tate doesn't stress over high school recruits. You know why? Cause Tate doesn't get nervous!!!

Something we can all aspire to. Especially when it relates to recruiting. So much heat and light about 17 year old kids. OMG! Cullen is considering OSU!! We can't lost this guy to the Buckeyes! ITS THE END OF THE WORLD!! I gather Cullen is a damn fine player. At a position of need. But you know what? RichRod will get his share. He'll coach them well and we will have a fine program. By 2011 the equal of OSU and on the way up. As opposed to Tressel, who will be on his way to Carr/Cooper somnolence. It's a marathon, friends. Be like Tate.

They's a whole senior season to be played by a lot of kids yet. They's a whole lot of players who will have great senior campaigns and move up the charts; some will move down.
UM will be in poisition to do some more scouting and pick up kids that others are going to whiff on because they all want to fill their classes up so quickly. AND UM can turn a lot of heads by having a solid season capped off with a bowl win.

This one shouldn't be negged.

Someone said recently Cullen wasn't aware that UM was going after so many DBs, or that Justin Turner was a corner. If that's important to him, then OSS is the LAST place to look. They're really close with Josh Shaw, Lamarcus Joyner, Christian Bryant (all 3 are rated higher than Cullen, I believe). So we'll see.
October 2nd, 2009 at 12:27 AM ^
Not to mention that he'd have a clear shot to start as a freshman, given our depth issues.
October 2nd, 2009 at 12:37 AM ^
are both rated higher according to rivals. joyner though, apparently, is a safety (?!).
October 2nd, 2009 at 6:57 AM ^
Scout has him listed at a 4.55, Rivals at a 4.68, and ESPN at a 4.73......with the tendency for these sites to fabricate for the benefit of the player, is there any concern that Cullen is only clocking a 4.7?
October 2nd, 2009 at 7:10 AM ^
and the fact that we've been after him hard for a while now, I'd have to say he is fast. However, he's not Denard fast!!
October 2nd, 2009 at 7:07 AM ^
It's not just his speed, but I think Cullen Christian is a better safety prospect than cornerback. But they're recruiting him as a corner and that's what he wants to play.
October 2nd, 2009 at 2:16 PM ^
I don't think he is going to end up at Michigan. i think his interest for Michigan is fading. i think he will end up at osu.. hopefully I'm wrong but that's what I'm feeling.

I don't know if I agree with this sentiment. Here's a quote from Christian:
“I like the big time corners they’ve produced,” Christian said. “They always have a great defense and that’s one of the school that I’ve always loved. I just love the Blue and Maize.”
Those are some pretty strong words. I'm not surprised to see that OSU made an offer, I would however be really surprised if he entertained it at all.

Interesting news, be interested to see what the OSU mods have to say about his offer if its confirmed.
