Brian Cole to Mississippi State
Didn't see this posted, but I noticed that former Wolverine Brian Cole is part of Mississippi State's recruiting class. He spent last year at a "last chance" community college in Mississippi, he landed with the other MSU. And he's playing safety full-time now.

recruits this year. The NCAA investigation must have been used by the rest of the SEC negative-recruiters to undermine Ole Miss bigtime. Payback is hell, isn't it Coach Freeze?

No one actually needed to negatively recruit. When you get all of your players by paying them, they tend to dry up when you stop paying. (I'm assuming they stopped paying being under the investigation spotlight.)

are able to turn it around. Have seen the benefits that come with those that are actually capable of making sweeping life changes. I hope Brian is among them. Although OP stated he saw nothing in his game that would justify his ranking, I am sure there was something to prompt offers from the top three in the east division and two of the top three in the w of the BIG, schools not necessarily known for wasting their time.
Regardless of level of talent, I just hope he understands - sometimes hard to do at that age - that his chances at a paid for degree by virtue of doing something he loves is a rare opportunity and seizes on it. Good luck, young man.

The Mississippi State ROTC is coordinating a 5K to raise funds for the EB Research Partnership in support of my son. The race starts and finishes at the football building and I have been told the team will be involved (I am not sure in what capacity). I was actually thinking about Cole the other day and wondered what happened to him - glad to see him getting a chance elsewhere. Didn't realize that they had turned him into a safety though, but hopefully he takes this opportunity and utilizes it.

I didn't know he ended up at the Miss juco that was on Last Chance U. Anyone know a date yet for when season 2 is released on Netflix?

Did he ever end up enrolling at Kentucky? I remember a while back he said he was planning on going there.
