This would be a good situation to walk into.  ECU's record could've been a few games better this year if some bounces would've gone the other way.  Hoke would just need to let his OC run the offense he wants to run.  Embrace the defensive side of the ball since that's what he knows best.

he'd do well there. Really, he would do fine at most places. He isn't a top coach, but he can recruit and at ECU he can get some decent athletes and put out good defenses.

As much as everyone loves to bash hoke, myself included, the real hate should be directed to Brandon for putting hoke in charge in the first place. Hoke had no chance, but I can't blame him for accepting his dream job. Brandon is the real jackass here. People have mentioned this many times before, so I'm probably stating the obvious. But most of the comments here are just bashing Hoke (including a couple from myself). So out of guilt, I thought I'd try and direct some contempt towards the real screw-up.
