does anyone else think that FOX is thee worst for sports coverage? i know you guys dont like mark may, or herbie, or holtz or museburger, but come on, who the hell is this guy? ryan secreast? i cant stand sports on FOX with all that being said. its a sickening feeling watching bowl selections that michigan will not be a part of. i dont care what you all say, im blaming rich for this. he's the head coach, and no matter what, i think thats where the blame falls.

Ohio State will get MURDERED. 55-21 Texas. Game will be over at halftime. Alabama will trounce Utah, and I think USC will win handily. Cincy will win (nobody will watch). I think every BCS game is a dud except the championship. That game will be fun.

Have you seen that Texas offense? I'll be shocked if they can't get 50. Yeah, they beat Texas two years ago, not sure what relevance that has now. Hell, this means MSU is going to be playing Georgia in the Cap One, doesn't it? The Big Ten is going to do awful. Penn State has a shot but not a good one. The media will bash like crazy, again.

That game wasn't a blow out - the ACC blows. MSU finished 3-5 in the Big Ten in 2007, and still would have easily beaten BC if their QB didn't play terribly. He threw a ton of interceptions and they lost 24-21.

Does anyone know if Hawaii is any good this year? Notre Dame's playing them in their backyard and I'd hate to seem them snap their bowl game losing streak.

Watched their game last night against Cincy. They should have won. I wouldn't call them a particularly good team. However, it'll be in Hawai'i in the middle of winter. I can't imagine that ND will be particularly focused for the game. That and Hawai'i has been substantially better at home than on the road in recent years.

I wonder if Notre Dame was offered any other games and turned them down, like, say, the Motor City Bowl. Playing Hawaii in Oahu can be tough, but it's such a winable game for them. As for the Motor City Bowl, Central Michigan v Florida Atlantic? Why bother without a Big Ten team? Go get another BCS conference team and make it interesting.

There's acutally several good games on the docket this year outside of the BCS. Wake vs Navy BYU vs Arizona Boise vs TCU Hawai'i vs ND WVU vs UNC Miami (U) @ CAL OkState vs Oregon Oregon St vs Pitt Kansas vs Minnesota (some one will not over-acheive) LSU vs GT UGa vs MSU BCS would have been more interesting if Utah and Texas would have swapped. While it would have been a lose/lose situation for OSU, the games appear to me as more competitive, plus you get the whole #3 vs #4.

the big ten is not going 0-7 or 1-6 this year they will win 3 or 4 of these games. i've been hearing this crap about the big ten in recent years and a combination of us being underrated and the big 12/sec being overrated usually leads to the big ten winning half of these. for example big ten was 3-3 against sec teams in bowl games the last two years (if i remember correctly) teams like texas, oklahoma, t tech go 11-1 or so in years where the rest of the conference sucks and they have better than usual teams and people are quick to make the judgement that the big 12 is incredible, only to be disappointed during the bowl season. this always happens. prior to the 2006 bowl season when osu and michigan were undefeated/1-loss teams everyone was scared of the big ten. yes the big 12 and sec are good conferences but once the games play out you'll see that the major conferences are all a lot closer than you think. so don't be surprised if michigan state sneaks by georgia or penn state beats usc or osu beats texas or iowa blows out the cocks or wisconsin beats the florida state.

It's ALL RichRod's fault: the losses, injuries, transfers, lawsuits, Middle East violence, Tipper Gore, Michael Jackson, "boom goes the dynamite", whistler tips, economic recession, high gas prices, pornography (no wait, that's good), Satan and all his bad mojo, syphilis, malaria! If you don't believe me, check my resources: Drew Sharp agrees with me! I must be right!

......that Ball St did not win the mac title.....i believe their was a working agreement to match notre dame up with ball st in the motor city bowl. Not sure if ND wanted any part of that kind of game unless the historic aspect of BSU coming in undefeated was in play. Otherwise it was between the Houston Bowl against Rice and the Hawaii Bowl against Hawaii....they chose Hawaii because it is an easier foe than Rice and they have a Christmas Eve spotlight....its the only game that night.....while the Houston Bowl has another bowl that night and is on the NFL Network.

does anyone wonder how the ACC has 10 teams in bowls? werent they the worst (or at the very best, second worst) confernce out of the big 6 and i still think these pairings are awful. im surpised there is no uproar that texas and bama werent playing. i think that would have been much better than ut osu and bama utah.

The bowl that loses its conference winner to the #1 spot gets first pick and the bowl that loses its conference winner to the #2 spot gets the second pick. Fiesta chose Texas, Sugar chose Alabama. Then, the last 3 spots get to be filled. There wasn't a chance for the Fiesta Bowl to grab Bama or for the Sugar Bowl to pick up Texas. It's more of a draft than a committee decision.
