I'm a UF grad (PhD) who doesn't root for its teams. But I live in FL and know lots of people who do. The number one concern with Mullin seemed to be his lack of enthusiasm for recruiting. So I am interested to hear how Napier can give UF a boost in relation to the serious hegemony of a Kirby Smart or Nick Saban. Given that Mullin probably fulfilled most of the other prerequisites (other than being a bit of a nutcake), let's just say I have my doubts.

Good time for FL to capitalize, if they can, with Miami and FSU still a good way from re-establishing Florida predominance. . .

He just signed for 10 years. If he hadn't signed, I'd think they would throw $12M at him (foolishly).

I honestly have no idea who is even out there outside of Campbell and Fickell and both of those guys seem like AWFUL fits for LSU.

Is their an NFL guy I'm not thinking about?

Maybe they tell Jimbo? $20M/year. Joking. Kinda.

Great hire. This guy has raised the profile of Louisiana (even after their rebrand from UL-Lafayette). He's upped their recruiting as well, as they've consistently been first in their conference on Signing Day. And he has major conference experience as an assistant at Clemson, FSU, and Alabama.
