The link below leads to a letter Bill Clinton wrote to CWebb after the infamous timeout. This must have had a big affect on Clinton for him to go out of his way to write and send the letter. Not political, I just thought it was an interesting reaction from someone who's been in so many high profile, high pressure situations.
Bill Clinton Letter to Chris Webber
THE WHITE HOUSE
April 9, 1993
I have been thinking of you a lot since I sat glued to the TV during the championship game.
I know that there may be nothing I or anyone else can say to ease the pain and disappointment of what happened.
Still, for whatever it's worth, you, and your team, were terrific. And part of playing for high stakes under great pressure is the constant risk of mental error. I know. I have lost two political races and made countless mistakes over the last twenty years. What matters is the intensity, integrity, and courage you bring to the effort. That is certainly what you have done. You can always regret what occurred but don't let it get you down or take away the satisfaction of what you have accomplished.
You have a great future. Hang in there.
In page 2 of the letter from President Clinton to CWebb, he let Webber know that you can waive the integrity part in instances where lying will get you out of trouble.
For him to write this. I'm sure CW really appreciated this gesture from someone of this stature.
Wow. That's really, really cool. Thanks for posting that. I've always liked Clinton despite disagreeing with him politically, that's cool of him that he took the time to write that letter.
Yeah, I really like that site. There's some pretty interesting letters posted on there.
The Mickey Mantle letter to the Yankees is absolutely one of the most amazing/funny things I've seen in my life. I don't know where they find this stuff, but it's great.
When I got detention in 7th grade I got a similar letter from bill clinton....it was weird he had the same hand writting as my mom
myself from trying to finish this joke: "So Chris Webber, Jalen Rose and Bill Clinton walk into a bar. The first guy says..."
Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, and Bill Clinton walk into a bar. Muggsy Bogues, also with them, says "Damn, y'all are tall. I walked right under that bar!"
check out that chick at the bar, with the blue dress on. Who wants to take the point on that one? "I got this one", says Slick Willy.....(and the rest is history)......
Most people use "effect" for "affect," not "affect" for "effect." Touche
Go Blue (dress)!
That letter was written on my first birthday.
Bill Clinton is a class act. (Except for the extramarital affair.) Don't care how you felt about his politics; he was a class act. Awfully good of him to send this letter to Webber.
