Big UM Wrestling dual today

#3 Michigan vs #5 Arizona St on Flo Wrestling 7pm central.

Lots of excitement. First time seeing Suriano wrestle in the UM singlet. Micic makes his debut at 141. M. Amine drops down to 184 after Olympic bronze over the summer.

side note:  rumor is Spencer Lee is not wrestling this season in lieu of getting knee surgeries.  Puts Suriano in the drivers seat at 125 and helps Michigan’s chances at an NC in March in Detroit.

There is a huge gap between Iowa and Penn State in the rankings and everyone else. It's probably bigger than the SP+ gap between Georgia and Michigan in football.

Michigan is historically good and has recently upgraded their competitiveness but it's difficult to envision a tournament NC. I hope they can get maybe 2 individual NCs and I can't wait for the duals against those teams.

B1G is excellent with 10 teams ranked in the top 20.

If you look up Jacob Couch on Flo Grappling, he's one of our former fighters that moved to Chicago and is under Heath Pedigo now. I let him live at my house for a year so he could focus only on training and not have to get a job. He's a good guy and I'm glad to see him doing well on the international BJJ stage. I know we're talking Michigan wrestling here, but as a person that has wrestled, done MMA, and BJJ in some form since the 90's now, all combat sports, especially grappling, are things I love.
