Big Sean had a close relationship with his granny, a West Virginia State and Michigan grad. When she died last year, he shared lots of pictures on Instagram and wrote about her many accomplishments, like being one of the first African-American female captains in World War II (and later a Detroit police officer which was rare for woman at the time, I guess). I think it's pretty cool he attended the Military Appreciation Day game at her alma mater.
