Bets won and lost from The Game
I have won and lost bets with friends and family when it comes to Michigan athletics but I no longer bet though on Michigan.
In 2016 for "The Game" I made a lunch bet with a coworker. There were others at work that heard the bet and somehow I made the bet with 10 other co workers at the same time. I thought I was lining up free lunches but unfortunately that didn't work out as planned.
Other than money what was the worst bet you have lost?
With that in mind check this video out that a buddy of mine sent me. Spoiler alert --- the good guy had to eat a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach.

I almost put $1,000 on osu to hedge my emotions in case osu won. I should have done that. Not a bad strategy from now on especially when the game is in columbus.
I don't often bet on this game because I bet with my heart in this one...that has not worked out.

After betting a good bit on us to beat ND this year, I decided to do that and took ohio to win. It doesn’t make it any better, I promise

Also, you're then essentially paying to have Michigan win.
All I can see here is a lose-lose. But maybe I'm just cheap.

I know this isn't the same as betting against Michigan but if money bought Michigan wins, I would be homeless.

nah it's all good I see your point and you are basically right. I don't bet much. Probably ~$1,500 a year. I didn't at all this football season so thought about just throwing a grand on osu. If michigan wins I'll be be so happy i won't care. If they lose I'll still be pissed but hey...at least I have some extra cash.
It's a morbid way of thinking which is why I've never really been able to bet against michigan and do this.

I was confident going into Notre Dame. Over confident. I bet a rival (not ND, but OSU) that if Michigan wins, he'd have to wear Michigan gear for our annual lodge party all day. If NF won? I'd have to wear OSU gear all day. I wish it were just money. This was a huge error on my part. I won't be able to dodge the lodge party forever.

As confident as I have been going into The Game . 2016 and 2018 have showed me . Dont bet on it ever again . If Michigan wins it, just be happy with that .

A guy in the office bet his barber that MIchigan would win. He has to grow, and keep his hair in a man bun until the next Ohio @ Michigan game. Imagine...a year with a douche knot!
He isn’t even a Michigan fan...I think my Michigan hype all year must have rubbed off on him.

I don't bet on Michigan games anymore. Not because I don't think they can/will win, but because I started to just want them to win so I could win my bet. I wasn't thinking about the team winning just me winning.

I had Michigan to win the B1G Championship game.
$2,500 bet to win $11,250.

My futures bets in UofM to make the playoffs and a 2nd to win it all were destroyed. Luckily I did not spend the winnings yet.

I've only bet on Michigan once. Against Florida last year. Worked out well.
