Beaver Has Bad Feelings?
His myspace page (I know a lot of you hate when people use these as a source) says on his mood update thing "Bad Feeling Bout Michigan!"
Any thoughts as to why? I'm not his friend on there so I can't see if he posted a bulliten or anything. Could he be rethinking his decision because of the McGuffie transfer? I heard they were somewhat friends.

Let's wait and see what some of the recuitniks have to say before freaking out. In other news, it looks as though Pearlie Graves might be reopening his recruiting, though.

FWIW, Jay, on Rivals, they had a quote from Graves saying that he's not "opening his commitment" but that he was going to take some visits (at least, to Oklahoma) to "have some fun".

Yeah, that's kind of what it seems like right now. Wasn't Graves the same recruit that the same day he verballed to us there were rumors about him possibly decommitting? I honestly can't blame these kids for looking at all their options, especially when one of those options (Oklahoma) is playing for a national title in a few weeks and is much closer to home.

That said - while that article has quotes, in none of them does he say he is decommitting. He says he's taking visits - which we knew.
Beaver doesn't freak me out. He's supposed to be at Michigan in 3 weeks, and doesn't have any visits scheduled.

has in the past recycled quotes from interviews that are months old that are sprinkled in with a "news" story to make it look like there is more information than there is. I've seen most of those Graves comments before and they came before he committed.

It's the economy, stupid! When he says "Bad Feeling Bout Michigan!" he's saying he's worried about the state of Michigan and the direction it's heading in. Let's face it, the economy hasn't been stellar for a while now, home prices are falling, inflation is rising and the troubles with the Big 3 are just adding to the already palpable anxiety.
I take this as a sign of his commitment to the school. Beaver is solid blue. He's so solid, that he considers the state of Michigan his home. And he's worried about his home, as we all are. But it will always be his home. He will be a Wolverine and the state of Michigan's adopted son.
Or he's wavering in his commitment. I really don't know.

Yea he said he wants to try to make it to Michigan. He couldn't come last time, because his parents didn't have enough money. It seems like he's high on Oklahoma too.

Yeah, the Scout boards have been imploding all day (I just logged on) over one four word phrase from Beaver. No one has spoken to him, no one knows anything right now, except for the fact he's been recruiting hard for us and has stated repeatedly that he's solid. People need to stop with the OH MY GOD WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Sam Webb, on recruiting roundup, has said that
"Beaver-Does not have a myspace or facebook account, does not know where rumors started"

He doesn't have a facebook account, he does have a Myspace page. His profile had his "name" and then "bad feeling bout Michigan." I saw it on there earlier.
I'm not sure why everyone freaked out so fast though. This could be nothing. When he talks to me, he has to tell me like 4 different times what he means, because he's a 17 year old kid that talks like one.

CGC - would it be better if Georgia Tech was recruiting him? Then the post would be "Johnson has bad feeling about Beaver after last night" - feel free to insert (pun intended) appropriate or inappropriate joke in one's head.
I will admit Greaves, Beaver and Campbell are the three I feel the most unsure about. Barnes who was my fourth is already a decommit. Campbell because of Ronald Johnson and Nick Perry, Greaves because of Oklahoma and Beaver because of Texas Tech. Once these teams collective bowl seasons are done, they will come after our recruits with impunity. Hopefully we can withstand the onslaught.

This is why I never followed recruiting before. Do you remember when you were 17? I would have killed someone to go to Michigan, it was all I thought about... then I got into Whittier College in California and my world became all about moving to LA. Then when I got into Gonzaga and started getting excited about the Pacific Northwest and college basketball... only to stay in state for financial reasons and remain bleeding Maize and Blue.

FWIW, I talked to Roy Roundtree yesterday. He said he talked to Beaver on tuesday, and everything was good, he'll be there in January.
