Baumgardner: Beilein Provides insight on assistant search
Beilein says he's open to announcing both hires at same time. Likely will have at least one with defensive focus and it probably won't be Patrick.
Snyder's take seemed to eliminate P. Beilein from consideration.
He always looked so happy during his career that I always forgot how good he was. He's like some weird combo of Robert Sacre and, well, a really good player. I always thought he could be a coach.
Not concerned with the overall amount (obviously FB will always have more), but JH has a seemingly bottomless wallet when it comes to filling out the staff and was able to upgrade the quality of the assistant coaches almost to an immeasurable point (aside for the Mattison holdover), I wonder if the BB program has "game changing" resources as well.
Why not hire the best (even if most expensive) assistants? To me it seems as if we are shopping in the outlet stores, when this program should be at Tiffany's picking out whomever JB wants.
