BACK-TO-BACK: Michigan Softball wins 2019 B1G Championship

Back-to-back and 11 of the last 12 B1G Championships

The Wolverines have completely turned around their season tenfold.

This Michigan team became the first since 2001 to fall out of the Top-25 after a bad start to the season, starting 6-8.

Since then the Wolverines have gone 34-3 and have clinched the B1G Championship with a 22-1 record. The 21st in program history.

GO BLUE!!!!

And it very well looks like this will be an outright championship because Northwestern is getting their ass kicked right now.

Michigan still needs Minnesota to beat Northwestern to win the title out right and get the #1 seed

Minnesota is up 4-0 bottom of the 4th and threatening once again

The outright B1G Champions earn the 1 seed in the B1G Tournament next weekend in Bloomington.

1 Michigan FINALLY gets the early session. The B1G (stupidly) determines the gametimes by where the host team is. They usually get the 3rd game of the day. Indiana is thankfully the 7 seed so they organized it so they would get the 4:30pm game so Michigan is in the early session for the first time since winning the championship back in 2015.

1 Michigan will face the winner of 8 Nebraska/9 Illinois on Friday at 1:30pm on BTN in the B1G Tournament Quarterfinals.

I don't follow the regular season as closely as I should.  Do they have a shot at taking it all this year or is Oklahoma too damn good?

Rarely do sports feel like they work out that well for us. Michigan gets the sweep and Northwestern loses their last 2 games (after being undefeated in conference going into this weekend, right?) and we get the title

Bad Start perhaps but one has to look at the level of competition of those losses. Most were to top ten teams AND Michigan beat 3 ranked Pac 12 teams in #1 UCLA  # 3 Washington   and #16 Ariz St so I wouldnt really call it a bad start...Challenging start perhaps

The accomplishments of the softball team over the years have been just remarkable.  Would love to see them win another NCAA championship some year.
