For those of you living under a rock, recently out of a coma, or living in Iowa - TODAY IS B1G SUPER SATURDAY!!!  This is the day where the savior of our conference, Sir James Delaney, Esq., has graciously arranged for the greatest conferences spectacles to happen in a DOUBLE HEADER at the focal point of human civilization:  MADISON SQUARE GARDEN IN NEW YORK CITY!

Just think:  we are blessed to not only have perhaps the greatest basketball rivalry in college - Illinois and Maryland - square off at 12pm today (in the very heart of their fan bases), but we also get to see our very own Michigan hockey team play host to the Penn State Nittany Lions.  Make certain to pack your spouse's, children, parents, little brothers, neighbors, loved ones, annoying coworkers, and fellow MGoBloggers into you family vehicle for the short drive over to this conveniently located venue for a stress-free and affordable day out (with nearly unlimited parking options, to boot)!  Don't forget to tell Jim (or Jimmy D. as we affectionately call him) how much we appreciate his thoughtfulness - that man is truly underpaid for the wonders that he works.

Have fun!

Alas, no edit function for the OP...

Hockey game is on at 7pm.  Grammar Nazis proceed to attack various errors.

Enjoy your Saturday, folks!

Sparty Doesn't Know

The most interesting thing about Super Saturday may be watching the MSG crew switch the arena from basketball to hockey.

The least they could have done is channel Mystery,Alaska and had Michigan play the Rangers.  I'd say the same about Maryland and the Knicks, but Maryland may just win that one.

Looking more forward to Sparty playing at Purdue tomorrow afternoon in that crackerbox arena.  Great place to watch a game - but loud as hell, feels like the fans are all right there on the court.  The Boilermakers are tough there - hoping they stick it to Sparty tomorrow.

Light em up, Carsen Edwards!!!

The last two years we are 3-1 against them, Beilein has a winning record v Izzo I believe, and we are 19-1 with a loss at Wisconsin while they are 18-2 with a loss at Louisville.

Sparty is playing well right now - but asinine for anyone to make that statement.  Though you are right - there are some a-holes on here that probably will.  Hoping you are not one of them.

I think we are in for 2-3 great games against Sparty this year.  Going to be epic.  Wouldn't bet against Beilein and this team continuing our success w them.

Go Blue!

Duke is 5-15 to start the game their game at home v Georgia Tech.  Barrett is 1-5 from 3.  I wonder if their fans are screaming at their team, and pissing and moaning that "we suck and need to shoot better"...

it'll be hard for OSU to make the tournament if they lose today, unless they win the big ten tourney of course.  NU needs a win over UW, they're a respectable 49 in net, but I don't think I've seen them in any bracketologies.

Not that it isn't already, but if Sparty beats Purdue, it will really be a two team race.

Indiana, Nebraska and Maryland have totally crapped in their pants and don't look well coached.

I haven’t seen such an electric atmosphere since two college teams squared off in a sterile, out-of-market, professional sports arena for a near-meaningless conference championship game. Goose pimples!
