B1G Championship Game
Michigan will not make the B1G Championship game in Harbaugh’s first contract. Two years left on his current 7 year contract and there is very little evidence that supports a trip to Indianapolis. We (Michigan) fans will be waiting a long time. I doubt Don Brown survives next years blowout in Columbus. Something has to change.

Edit - it’s night game; thought B1G was the afternoon game (based on this early OP)

Why? He is probably right. Are you saying you wouldn’t take the field against that prediction?
December 7th, 2019 at 2:59 PM ^
Did OP post any new information or is this a week old snowflake thread? This is a regurgitated take we've seen posted dozens, nay, hundreds of times on the board usually by this obnoxious poster.

Apathy has set in. New or not, he isn’t wrong.

100% correct. It's a pointless snowflake thread regardless whether it is right or wrong.
I miss the days when Original posts contained actual news and/or original thoughts.

UMB11 I've defended you many times on this board and have a lot of respect for you. That said, you've been acting like a little bitch since the Wisconsin game.
By all means, I'd love to hear some insider perspective on who UM would get that would check all the boxes needed and would be better than Harbaugh.
December 7th, 2019 at 3:38 PM ^
I'm upvoting the 2nd paragraph.
December 7th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
Only little bitches accept 0-5. As for who? Pick any top 20 D-1 coach or NFL HOT prospect. Harbaugh is somewhere in the top 25 at best.
December 7th, 2019 at 3:49 PM ^
Exactly this. Look at Baylor, everyone assumed they'd be in the basement of the conference for years, if not decades, after the Briles scandal, they picked an up & comer and this year they went to their conference championship and were on the very edge of the playoff.
December 7th, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
Nice rebound against Kansas and Texas Tech. Now come do that against OSU, PSU, Wisconsin, etc.
Rhule is a good coach, but Baylor wasn't demolished (much like UCF when Frost took over), and he's 0-2 this year against a team OSU is about to put 70 on. Let's not compare apples to zucchinis here.
December 7th, 2019 at 4:02 PM ^
For 2019, you can almost take OSU out of the equation. They are potentially historically good. It is what it is, though if we didn't have a multitude of dumb mental mistakes The Game should've at least been closer.
However, the problem is that Harbaugh absolutely should not have gone 0-3 against the 2016-2018 versions, each of those Buckeye teams was beatable, none scored a point in the playoffs (and two didn't even go) and each suffered a bad loss (Iowa, Purdue and an absolute slaughter by Clemson). If you get one of those, just one, this year doesn't feel so horrible.
Back to 2019, the truly inexcusable thing in Year 5 is going 0-2 against Penn State and Wisconsin, one team we have significantly more talent than and were DESTROYED by and another we're about equal with, but are probably better in 2019, and lost in a game we absolutely needed at that time of the season.
It's not like we're ONLY losing to OSU and then going to the Rose Bowl while they're in the Playoffs every year because they're unstoppable; we ALWAYS lose our road games against teams with similar or slightly worse talent as well.
December 7th, 2019 at 4:17 PM ^
I'm still waiting on the more Spartans to be kicked off the team for PED use that umbig11 said would be...
December 7th, 2019 at 6:50 PM ^
I'd agree. I respect umbig11 but his or her recent posts have been down right negative and filthy. Yeah Harbaugh is 0-5 against OSU but UM is 1-16 against OSU in the last 17 years.
No hot NFL prospect or top 20 D1 coach is coming here or would make the fan base happy. Running off Harbaugh is such a bad look.
A coach that has multiple 9+ win seasons.
Please, go back in your cave...
December 7th, 2019 at 7:26 PM ^
His static with Harbaugh appears to be more on the personal level. I don't think it's any coincidence that he hasn't had quite the amount of "insider" posts that he's had in the past.
December 27th, 2019 at 10:48 AM ^
Is it even possible to have static with someone on a personal level if you've never even met the person?
December 7th, 2019 at 6:52 PM ^
Here's a hot take, you can be not ok with 0 - 5 and still not act like a little bitch.
Pick any top 20 D1 coach...
Come on man, that's a pretty lazy take. This isn't like picking out a puppy where you can just choose whoever you want. Just because there's a good coach doesn't mean they'll A) want to come coach UM, and B) be a good fit in terms of all the other BS a UM coach has to do beyond coaching in itself.
December 7th, 2019 at 9:36 PM ^
Oh look everyone, our spoiled little brat insider is back to bash the program. I guess Harbaugh must have really given you some shit, or not have bowed down to your bullshit. If I remember correctly, you should be old enough to have better things to do than this. Grow the fuck up.
December 7th, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
So acting like a little bitch means telling the truth. What DT recruits is Michigan in on with the early signing day this month? What corners are we in on if we don't get DGW? Why has the recruiting staff been employed for this long if they have struggled for three years? They will probably be replaced after this cycle and it will be too late just like it was when we had Drevno and Pep Hamilton. Harbaugh is always the last one to recognize the problems with the team. Are the tempo, two minute drill, and recruiting issues going to magically be better next year.
December 7th, 2019 at 4:04 PM ^
There aren’t any. Jay Harbaugh pack your bags. Don Brown follow Jay. 2nd and 19 and your stubborn ass still doesn’t use a zone. Some changes are needed. Recruiting analysts, you are on the clock.
December 7th, 2019 at 4:15 PM ^
Jay Harbaugh pack your bags
Why?
People keep bashing Jay but no one can offer any actual rationale beyond "Grrr nepotism."
December 7th, 2019 at 6:49 PM ^
Exactly.
You don't get better by getting worse.
And if we got worse after canning Harbaugh, I'd join the complainers crowd. For those who are upset now, just imagine the apathy of the fanbase after a self-inflicted decline.

December 7th, 2019 at 2:55 PM ^
That 2021 contract negotiation is going to be a little akward for Harbaugh when he is sitting there at 0-7 vs OSU and making roughly twice as much as Ryan Day.
December 7th, 2019 at 2:58 PM ^
Warde probably won’t wait that long, but you are right. That would be awkward as hell if he were 0-7!
December 7th, 2019 at 3:22 PM ^
Is there really that much difference between 0-5 and 0-7? At what point will the administration cease to put up with losing to OSU. I think if Harbaugh wins 9-10 games a year, he will be here as long as he wants to be.
December 7th, 2019 at 3:27 PM ^
The question Warde will have to ask himself is which coaching candidate could he get that increases our odds of beating OSU. I honestly cant think of any realistic options out there that are as sure enough bet to warrant cleaning house
December 7th, 2019 at 3:32 PM ^
which coaching candidate could he get that increases our odds of beating OSU
Urban Meyer.

December 7th, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
At what point will the administration cease to put up with losing to OSU.
What should they do, put a letter in his file?
OSU is 12-0 and statistically is one of the best teams in CFB history. Therein lies the fundamental problem. It's not simple to just tell the coach, "Go beat those guys."
December 7th, 2019 at 4:13 PM ^
We'll cease losing to OSU all the time sometime after the administration decides it's much more important to the school than it's been up to now. When we start not emphasizing academics with the players and let them take all their classes online; when we have a true RPO QB who is a danger to go the distance on any given play; when we have excellent athletes at all the positions on the team instead of just some of them; when we start emphasizing the game in practice every week and all year long; when we start playing The Game with toughness and passion and not cave in after something goes wrong; when we hold the coaches more accountable for blowout losses in The Game and bowls - that's when we'll start beating OSU.
December 7th, 2019 at 4:25 PM ^
They're too busy counting the money Harbaugh has brought in. When that dries up, then shit will get real.
December 8th, 2019 at 8:42 AM ^
interesting...
December 7th, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
Warde should ask for some money back...Bo Pelini could get 9-3 here for half the price
December 7th, 2019 at 3:01 PM ^
If we land C.J. Stroud this weekend, there’s a decent chance he starts next fall. Maybe a little growing pains in 2020, but it’s all or nothing in 2021.
