B1G Championship Game

Michigan will not make the B1G Championship game in Harbaugh’s first contract. Two years left on his current 7 year contract and there is very little evidence that supports a trip to Indianapolis. We (Michigan) fans will be waiting a long time. I doubt Don Brown survives next years blowout in Columbus. Something has to change.

UMB11 I've defended you many times on this board and have a lot of respect for you. That said, you've been acting like a little bitch since the Wisconsin game.

By all means, I'd love to hear some insider perspective on who UM would get that would check all the boxes needed and would be better than Harbaugh.

For 2019, you can almost take OSU out of the equation. They are potentially historically good. It is what it is, though if we didn't have a multitude of dumb mental mistakes The Game should've at least been closer.

However, the problem is that Harbaugh absolutely should not have gone 0-3 against the 2016-2018 versions, each of those Buckeye teams was beatable, none scored a point in the playoffs (and two didn't even go) and each suffered a bad loss (Iowa, Purdue and an absolute slaughter by Clemson). If you get one of those, just one, this year doesn't feel so horrible.

Back to 2019, the truly inexcusable thing in Year 5 is going 0-2 against Penn State and Wisconsin, one team we have significantly more talent than and were DESTROYED by and another we're about equal with, but are probably better in 2019, and lost in a game we absolutely needed at that time of the season.

It's not like we're ONLY losing to OSU and then going to the Rose Bowl while they're in the Playoffs every year because they're unstoppable; we ALWAYS lose our road games against teams with similar or slightly worse talent as well.

I'd agree.  I respect umbig11 but his or her recent posts have been down right negative and filthy. Yeah Harbaugh is 0-5 against OSU but UM is 1-16 against OSU in the last 17 years.

No hot NFL prospect or top 20 D1 coach is coming here or would make the fan base happy. Running off Harbaugh is such a bad look.

A coach that has multiple 9+ win seasons.

Please, go back in your cave...

Here's a hot take, you can be not ok with 0 - 5 and still not act like a little bitch.

Pick any top 20 D1 coach...

Come on man, that's a pretty lazy take. This isn't like picking out a puppy where you can just choose whoever you want. Just because there's a good coach doesn't mean they'll A) want to come coach UM, and B) be a good fit in terms of all the other BS a UM coach has to do beyond coaching in itself.

So acting like a little bitch means telling the truth. What DT recruits is Michigan in on with the early signing day this month? What corners are we in on if we don't get DGW? Why has the recruiting staff been employed for this long if they have struggled for three years? They will probably be replaced after this cycle and it will be too late just like it was when we had Drevno and Pep Hamilton. Harbaugh is always the last one to recognize the problems with the team. Are the tempo, two minute drill, and recruiting issues going to magically be better next year.

That 2021 contract negotiation is going to be a little akward for Harbaugh when he is sitting there at 0-7 vs OSU and making roughly twice as much as Ryan Day.

At what point will the administration cease to put up with losing to OSU.

What should they do, put a letter in his file?

OSU is 12-0 and statistically is one of the best teams in CFB history.  Therein lies the fundamental problem.  It's not simple to just tell the coach, "Go beat those guys."

We'll cease losing to OSU all the time sometime after the administration decides it's much more important to the school than it's been up to now.  When we start not emphasizing academics with the players and let them take all their classes online; when we have a true RPO QB who is a danger to go the distance on any given play; when we have excellent athletes at all the positions on the team instead of just some of them; when we start emphasizing the game in practice every week and all year long; when we start playing The Game with toughness and passion and not cave in after something goes wrong; when we hold the coaches more accountable for blowout losses in The Game and bowls - that's when we'll start beating OSU.

If we land C.J. Stroud this weekend, there’s a decent chance he starts next fall. Maybe a little growing pains in 2020, but it’s all or nothing in 2021.
