Anyone own "Bo"?

Submitted by Brodie on
I'm looking for a passage from Bo's autobiography where he talks about telling Woody he's going to Miami and Woody telling him he's going to be the coach at Ohio State when he retires. Can anyone who owns the book post it for me? Thanks in advance.

The following year, Johnny Pont left Miami of Ohio, my alma mater. They were looking for a new coach. I went to Woody and told him I wanted that job. I'd been in the program for ten years, and I thought I was ready. "You can't leave," Woody said, banging his hat on the deck. "What do you mean I can't leave?" "You can't leave," he said, "because you're going to be the next head coach here at Ohio State." "Woody," I said, "how much longer are you going to coach?" "Three to five years. No longer." I didn't believe that. I don't think he did either. "Gee, Woody, " I said, apologetically. "I'm ready to go now. I shouldn't wait around." It was a good thing I didn't. He stayed there another sixteen years. As I drove away from Columbus, I knew I would never work for Woody Hayes again. But I had a feeling he was not out of my life. And, man, was I right about that. p 41 Is this what you sought? "Bo" may be out of print, but it is available in many public libraries.

This book was like my bible (no offense to those among you who are religious) - I'd keep it by my bedside and read passages each night before going to bed to make me feel better about the (Michigan football) world. BEAT THE BUCKS! BEAT THE BUCKS!

But getting ready for Thanksgiving tonight my mom pulled out this big serving spoon made out of Silver and goes: 'Hey Bill (my dad) - Is this the spoon Bo gave us for our wedding'? and my dad's like 'That's the one!' and I'm just sitting there with my jaw slack like 'damn I miss that dude' and his awesomeness, but we still have this spoon
