Today I learned that the triple option is scary shit, Wisconsin is not good anymore, and that Notre Dame is a tiny bit better at home than Purdue is on the road.

Wisky just got bailed out on a hell of a PI call

ND will pull this out in a 20-17 scare against Purdue, but it does not change the fact that, every time I hear their fight song, I can only think of "Airplane".

The BigTen is as bad as the Oregon State uniforms are ugly

Danny O'Brien looks like a middle-aged cigar magazine editor.

Douche move of ND secondary player to intercept Purdue pass with no time on the clock and to return it ~35 yards rather than immediately take a knee.

TD Wisky. Onside kick or die.

I think he touched that ball early.

Wiscy recovers the onside!

Wisco kicker is a baller

Looked like it hit #8 on OSU and bouced back to hit kickers left arm

Awful call. Refs got it wrong. #8's hand hit it back. Should have been a live ball.
September 8th, 2012 at 7:25 PM ^
Can't believe they didn't see that. Nother blown replay call.

Garbage!

Overturned on review. Oregon State wins, Big Ten prestige plummets.

I took USC -26 against Syracuse and I'm pretty worried now. USC has played really sloppy and Syracuse isn't as bad as I thought they'd be. I don't believe the 1 hour rain delay at halftime helped much.

Or St #Giantkillers

If Oregon State has pulled off that many upsets in the last 8 years, how come they're never actually, you know, any good in their own right?
September 8th, 2012 at 7:23 PM ^
The Fox CFB crew of Erin, Eddie and Joey is awful.
September 8th, 2012 at 7:33 PM ^
I have to say that USC's last drive was closer to how I imagined this game - Robert Woods and Marqise Lee being able to act as if no one is even near them.
On the other hand, Syracuse QB takes a sack, throws and illegal forward pass, then gets roughed up for a foul on USC. This may be their best shot at getting first downs at this rate.

Denard has 408 yards passing the last 2 games (200 in each,) and 245 yards rushing (218 against Air Force.) After todays game Denard is only 411 rushing yards shy of Antwaan Randle Els B1G rushing record for qbs, and 1,006 yards shy of Pat Whites rushing record for qbs. If he averages 101 rushing ypg for the rest of the season it'll be his record.

some of us Michigan grads brought College GameDay to Minnesota today for a charity costume 5K. Figured it's about time the 'other' U of M gets the crew in town. Here's a shot of our group:
Yes, we pushed the set all 3.1 miles.

Can somebody tell how Arizona put up 624 yards and only scored 17 points in regulation last week? They did turn the ball over three times, but still not sure how you gain so many yards and score so little. Baylor had nearly identical offensive stats last week and scored 59.
September 8th, 2012 at 7:59 PM ^
I didn't watch the game so maybe this comment is completely useless, but perhaps Coach Rod's team has trouble without the open field in front of him. Michigan didn't seem to do great in the red zone in 2010 despite putting up tons of yards. I don't think WVU had trouble putting points on the board inside the 20, so maybe not a negative attribute of the system, but then again they also had Pat White and Steve Slayton.

I just saw the boxscore and was mystified. They had like 350 yards rushing and 270ish rushing yards, but barely scored. The three turnovers hurt, but Baylor had a turnover. Thanks for hazarding a guess. As neither of us saw the game and it is of little consequence, we will agree that it was the redzone O and this will henceforth be the reality.

"Let's face it--the people who have been buying tickets to see games in the Dome at Syracuse have paid to see a lot of bad games. And now they finally have an opponent like this on the schedule and they move the game to New Jersey."

It's early, but I think the reports of Taylor Martinez's newfound passing accuracy were greatly exaggerated

and seem not to understand the basics of what is happening. (Gus Johnson and Charles Davis). For example, Nebraska ran a triple option on 3rd and short, and Martinez gave to the FB when he should have kept. Charles Davis started going on and on about how it's not good to give the ball to the FB on short yardage because he can't get enough momentum... as if the play was designed to go to the FB instead of being an option.
