Ace: 247Sports Names Michigan's OL Class Best in Nation

Submitted by Ace on

The article is free, so you can actually read all about how awesome the 2012 OL class is (and that's without potential future commits like Jordan Diamond), but I'll post it here anyway:

The Wolverines have five commitments on the line led by top national tackles Kyle Kalis (Lakewood, Ohio/St. Edward) and Erik Magnuson (Encinitas, Calif./La Costa Canyon).

Kalis has a 247 Rating of 96 and is the No. 40 prospect in the country and No. 7 offensive tackle in a truly special class of tackle prospects.
Magnuson, 6-foot-6, 275-pounds, checks in at No. 63 with a 96 rating. He is the No. 10 ranked tackle in the class.

Joining the impressive duo are tackles Ben Braden (Rockford, Mi.), Blake Bars (Nashville, Tenn./Montgomery Bell Academy) and Caleb Stacey (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore). Braden is on the verge of four-star status checking in with a 247 Rating of 89.

The tight end group of Devin Funchess and A.J. Williams also comes in for an honorable mention.

I was logged out of the site and could see the whole thing -- it's a front-page article for them. Let me know if I just jacked a huge section of a premium article because 247 doesn't know the difference between "logged out" and "logged in".

Right on, we do have a great linebacking class.  And the d-line is already impressive with Pipkins, Wormley, Strobel, Godin and Ojemudia and could be even better if we end up with Dan O'Brien.  And our secondary isn't too shabby either.  I hope Ace does another one of these next week too.

Edit:  Oops, guess Ace is already on it.

Ace, there was a quote posted on 247 a day or two ago by Wes Brown's high school coach basically saying that his previous favorite, the U, is now out. He will not be going to Miami. Earlier in his recruitment, he mentioned Michigan along with Miami among his top two or three. Any chance you know if we are in contact with and still pursuing him?

Not sure where the coaches are at with him - there was a Rivals article on him yesterday that said he now has no clear leaders, or even really a list. The only team mentioned was Virginia Tech, who might be in his top five. Definitely sounds like a player Hoke could really take a shot at if he wants a running back in this class.

Sweet, thanks for tracking this down and sharing this, Ace.

Also, just out of curiosity: did you "inherit" the contacts that TomVH had, or do you have to start from scratch with that?
