97.1 Butchers B. Graham Quote.

Submitted by 10th yr Senior on
So on 97.1 they discussed Brandon Graham guaranteeing a victory on Saturday. This should get interesting. EDIT: I tried fixing the title to make a better description. If anyone else has a suggestion, I'm all ears.

I was getting kinda tired of her endless chatter Nothing I could say ever seemed to matter So I took a little drive just to clear my head I saw a flashing neon up ahead It looked like a place to find some satisfaction With a little less talk and a lot more action
I'm tired of the talk. It means nothing. Go out and do it.

I heard Graham say in the presser, "we will beat O State (pause) sooner or later". He didn't just come right out and say 'we will beat osu this year." Taking the quote out of context just to make inane conversation. WDFN did the same thing briefly on Monday when Ryan Ermani(sp) said he "heard" that Rich Rod said Michigan can only beat osu with "a better team." What the coach actually said was "that Michigan will beat OSU when they have a better team then the one they are playing against." The two quotes say two very different things. One throws his team under the bus and theother(the accurate one) states logically that the better team will win. I hate it when 'journalists' take a phrase out of context and run with it like it's the absolute truth. Wilbon's assinine comments about RR getting fired were the same way. From what I understand, his source with "an affliation close to RR says he's gone" turns out to be a former player of his from WVU. Yeah, that's a credible source. Trying to affect recruiting? duh! ARRRGGGHHH!

Brandon Graham and all the others than have had to see their Michigan careers enshrouded in defeat, 'scandal', questions of their heart, their desire, etc deserve to come out and say something like this. Brandon Graham guarantees that if every man on that team plays with the rage that he himself will on Saturday that this team will come out victorious. As has been the problem in many of our games this year, that just hasn't been the case. Kudos to Graham for staying true to the colors of the jersey, not the name on the back as we have seen others do. He can say whatever the hell he wants.

Normally I would hate this. Didn't he guarantee a win against MSU last year? This could fire up an OSU team that is possibly overlooking us. However, we can't drop any lower this season. Most are thinking OSU wins big...so if we lose, we are expected to. Maybe it will fire us up more than OSU. A win would be huge.

Did Brandon Graham guarantee a victory? I say no, but I wasn't at the press conference. Is it true, as our host and faithful reporter has told us elsewhere, that Brandon Graham said, "We will beat them... sooner or later. Hopefully it's this Saturday." Explain yourself, 10th Year Senior. And explain this message thread title.

Unfortunately, they did not provide an audio bit or quote of any kind, but why would anyone expect that on the radio/freep/etc? Seriously, though, they probably were twisting around that quote and conveniently left out the sooner or later bit. Right after the next commercial they started discussing whether Coach Rod should or shouldn't be given a 3rd year, so as always we should take what is said on the radio with a grain of salt. I just wanted to post that they were discussing it.

+1 for that. All in all, this was a worthwhile effort; to note yet another fact-butchering, truth-smothering, reality-mangling bit of worthless trashtalk from 97.1. I'm sorry, but listening to that station is like subscribing to the Free Press. Does anybody know; is there a place where these sportstalk program hosts have actually answer live audience questions, unfiltered by call screeners and without somebody to cut off a mic or a call if the questions get too hard? Really, is there a bar or a restaurant where these guys do live shows of any kind? Where you can call them on stuff that they have claimed or supported on the air? The more I think about it, the less I care. They mean nothing to Michigan. Michigan doesn't need publicity, or general sports fans to buy tickets to a half-empty stadium, or to make payroll or to bump up sagging ratings.

Valenti and Foster garbage on the radio. When I first heard them on the radio, I didn't know what to make of them. It didn't take me long to figure out how biased and hateful they are of Michigan. I swore right then and there that I would not listen to them again and I haven't. They are nothing but anti-Michigan biased scum and would like nothing more than to see RR and M fail for years to come. Valenti and Foster can kiss my Maize and Blue butt.
