6'5" 260 lbs DL/TE 8th grader gets his first P5 offer--USC
Link to USC offer article:
Link to article about him. Scroll down for a little highlight video. Not only is he bigger, much bigger, and stronger than all the other 8th graders playing, he's also quicker. Yes, he could play DB against them.
That's... nothing at all close to what I looked like in the 8th grade.
Agree, was never that tan before the summer started
Me neither
Looks at least 20. If he is 260 now, he will be a DT by college
Probably OT. Not many kids stop getting taller in 8th grade.
Justus Terry shirtless >>>> Jim Harbaugh shirtless, just sayin'!
Idk... there’s something definitely wrong with fawning over shirtless pictures of 8th grade boys...
Great. Now I know that I can get beat up by middle schoolers.
The real question is will USC accept him as a rowing recruit?
Holy Jeebus! That's just not right.
He had to have been held back a year or two. That kid looks way too old and physically developed to be in eighth grade.
I’m honestly surprised there isn’t some NCAA rule that bans coaches from even talking to kids before they get to high school.
I know he's a huge kid. But he wasn't held back.
There are some rules. Prior to September 1st of their junior year, athletes can’t receive any form of private communication. This includes emails, recruiting materials, texts and direct messages on social media.
Obviously there are loopholes and ways around it. Including contacting the player’s coach instead to relay information/offers. in-person contact is generally allowed as well.
In 8th grade, I was maybe 5'1" and a shade over 100 pounds, so basically I was this kid's left leg but considerably less muscular.
What are they feeding kids these days?
Democrats
Leaner meat. Better than the overly fatty conservative humans. /s
That's a big kid. Not that it matters that much given his size already, but I do wonder if he hit his growth spurt "early" because he keeps growing he may size out of some positions on the field.
It's been a long time since I was in grad school but I do remember a kid or two just breaking into 6" and maybe cracking 200lbs, so this isn't unbelievable. The muscle development, though, is a bit jarring.
Just breaking into 6" in grad school? Late bloomers, eh?
His dad must be 9’2”, 2000 lbs.
A Tacopants who lifts?
USC? Lane Kiffin must be slippin'.
Slippin' is Lane Kiffin's modus operandi.
