3 Michigan games make a Top 10 list of best October games

Submitted by Ezekiels Creatures on October 1st, 2019 at 8:37 PM

A writer at 247 put together a list of the Top 10 games for this month. As always, Jim Harbaugh creates big interest. Though the 3 games are very good ones, and important for both teams involved in the 3 games. What a tough month for Michigan! GO BLUE!

1. Oklahoma vs. Texas | Oct. 12

2. Auburn at LSU | Oct. 26

3. Auburn at Florida | Oct. 5.

4. Notre Dame at Michigan | Oct. 26

(personal note: I'm already feeling the electricity of this one. I hope it's a night game.)

This is an important month for Jim Harbaugh, but this is the most important Saturday of October for the Wolverines. We may have a good idea of what Michigan is by Oct. 26, but that doesn’t lessen the stakes for both teams. Notre Dame already fell to Georgia in Athens, so it has zero room for error when it comes to getting into the College Football Playoff. The Irish have to win this one.

5. Wisconsin at Ohio State | Oct. 26

The Badgers have solidified themselves as contenders who should be considered for the College Football Playoff, but this game against Ohio State will show just how legit they are. On the opposite sideline, the Buckeyes’ offense has been torching every team its faced so far this season. Can it keep lighting up the scoreboard when it faces a Wisconsin defense that has been one of the best throughout the first month of the season?

6. Florida at LSU | Oct. 12

7. Michigan at Penn State | Oct. 19

Michigan makes the list again. Happy Valley will be buzzing for this game, as it always is. Michigan stomped the Nittany Lions in Ann Arbor last season, so it will be interesting to see how Penn State responds this season. On top of that, this is the first game in the trio of Big Ten East tests that Michigan will have to face this call, and it comes on the road. Can the Wolverines work out their offense in time to beat a stout Penn State defense?

8. Penn State at Iowa | Oct. 12

9. Iowa at Michigan | Oct. 5

This game feels even more important than for Jim Harbaugh and Michigan than it did coming into the season. With the Wolverines getting beaten pretty handily by Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago, Harbaugh and his team have something to prove. On the other side, Iowa can show that Wisconsin won’t be able to stroll to a Big Ten West crown. The storylines around this one may be more entertaining than the actual play on the field.

10. Washington State at Oregon | Oct. 26

(He has this in the list only because it could be a very high scoring shoot out. Might be fun to watch lots of passing.)

I really dont think Iowa and PSU are that great. We should win those games.

Notre Dame is a different story. Either theyre the real deal or Georgia is a phony

Psu is as sure a loss as it will get. They will be favored and we will be on the road, obviously. What's our record as underdogs on the road? Yea not gonna happen unless we see some MAJOR improvements on both sides of the ball as well as mentality... the wisky loss really fucked us as we cannot afford to have two big ten losses if we want any shot at Indy...

ND is decidedly NOT “the most important” game this month. If we beat all our conference opponents I don’t care one lick about how we do against the Irish.

Well maybe a few licks.

Amazingly, Michigan is probably the toughest game left on ND’s schedule (other games are Bowling Green, USC, Duke, VaTech, Navy, BC, Stanford). While the game prob doesn’t have national implications either way, as it seems unlikely even a one-loss ND gets in over the B12 and BIG champ, stranger things have happened.

Michigan better have Hinton and Smith in on the defensive line. Wisconsin showed us that the D Line can be trucked at will by a good offensive line. Michigan needs big bodies like Hinton and Smith in there.

I love Ben Mason. But he just isn't big enough yet.

The Penn State White Out Game in Happy Valley is by far the biggest game in October, and after OSU, the biggest game left on the schedule for a lot of reasons but mainly...

Recruiting- I imagine there will be a lot in attendance and embarrassing them in their house would go a long way.

B1G east standings- using a moderately optimistic outlook, that game will be for 2nd place.

It would make Harbaugh 4-1 against them and will start the serious questioning of Franklin. Then they go and face MSU who also has a similar record against them.

PSU might not have another loss on their schedule besides OSU.

Games will be won. Games will be lost. BEAVERS 42 - Mustangs 14.

Uncle Swami sees BEAVER VICTORY .

Uncle Swami says EXPECT VICTORY .

I'll pass on the "Hype Train", as that has screwed us over in the last few years... in favor of the more conservative "Reality Train", which makes a stop in Iowa first!
